This wikiHow teaches you how to print a trifold brochure using Microsoft Word, Preview, and Adobe Acrobat. If you don't already have a brochure you want to print, create one before continuing.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Using Microsoft Word

Double-click the Word document that contains the brochure template.
If the brochure is saved in PDF format instead of Word format, try using Preview on a Mac computer or Adobe Acrobat on a Windows computer

It's in the upper-left corner of the Word window (Windows) or in the upper-left corner of your computer screen (Mac). After that, the menu will be displayed.
Step 3. Click Print

- On a Mac computer, click the drop-down box “ Copies & Pages ", click " Layout ”, select the “Two-Sided” box, and click “ Long-Edge Binding ”.
- You may need to click on the option “ Manually Print on Both Sides ” if the printer does not support the two-sided printing option.
Step 6. Change the paper orientation
Click the “Orientation” drop-down box, then select “ Landscape Orientation ”.
Step 7. Click Print
It's at the bottom of the page. The brochure will be printed on both sides of the paper.
- If you select the option " Manually Print on Both Sides ”, you need to take out and reload the paper into the printer after one side of the paper has been used.
- If your printer does not support two-sided printing, you can print the first page of the brochure first. After that, remove the paper from the printer, reload it with the blank side up and the front cover down, and print the second page of the brochure.
Method 2 of 3: Using Preview
Step 1. Open the brochure via Preview
If the brochure is saved as a PDF file on a Mac computer, Preview is usually the main program used to open the brochure. Just double-click the brochure file to open it.
If the brochure does not open in Preview, click on the brochure file, select " File ", choose " Open With, and click " Preview ” in the displayed menu.
Step 2. Click File
It's in the upper-left corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 3. Click Print…
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu. The "Print" window will open after that.
Step 4. Select a printer
Click the " Printer " drop-down box at the top of the window, then click the printer you want to use.
Step 5. Click the “Horizontal” orientation option
This option looks like a sideways silhouette.
Step 6. Set up two-sided printing
Click the drop-down box under the “Orientation” segment, click “ Layout ”, select the “Two-Sided” box, and click “ Long-Edge Binding ”.
Step 7. Click Print
It's at the bottom of the window. The brochure will be printed on both sides of the paper.
If your printer does not support two-sided printing, you can print the first page of the brochure first. After that, remove the paper from the printer, reload it with the blank side up and the front cover down, and print the second page of the brochure
Method 3 of 3: Using Adobe Acrobat
Step 1. Open the brochure in Acrobat
If Adobe Acrobat is set as your computer's primary document reader, simply double-click the brochure file. Otherwise, follow these steps:
- Windows – Right click brochure, select “ Open with, and click " Adobe Acrobat ” on the menu.
- Mac – Click the PDF file, select “ File ", choose " Open With, and click " Adobe Acrobat " or " Acrobat ” on the menu.
Step 2. Click File
It's in the top-left corner of the Acrobat window (Windows) or the top-left corner of the screen (Mac). A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 3. Click Print
This option is in the drop-down menu. The "Print" window will open after that.
Step 4. Select a printer
Click the " Printer " drop - down box at the top of the window, then click the printer you want to use in the drop - down menu.
Step 5. Check the box " Pages"
This box is at the top of Acrobat's “Print” page.
Step 6. Make sure the " Pages " box contains the number 1 in it
Thus, the machine will print the first page of the brochure (eg one side of the brochure), and not print the second page.
Step 7. Check the " Landscape " box
This box is on the left side of the page. After that, the brochure will be printed sideways so that the entire paper can be used.
Step 8. Click Print
This option is at the bottom of the page. The brochure will now be printed.
Step 9. Reload the paper
Place the paper with the printed side up, and the left side of the brochure into the machine first. After you have printed one side of the brochure, it is time to print the other side of the brochure.
If the printed side is facing up when the paper exits the machine, reload the paper with the print side down
Step 10. Reopen the "Print" window
Click " File ", choose " Print ”, and make sure the print settings used remain the same.
Step 11. Change the number in the " Pages " box to 2
Thus, the first page will be ignored (the part of the brochure that was previously printed) and the machine will only print the second page of the brochure.
Step 12. Click Print
Step 13. Make sure the brochure is printed correctly
If the brochure prints correctly on both sides, you can repeat this process for several other brochures.
