Method 2 of 2: Using Emojis on Facebook
Step 1. Using emoticons with Facebook Chat
- Head to the bottom right corner of your open Facebook session and click the "Chat" box.
- Click directly on the name of the Facebook friend you want to chat with to open a new chat window.
- Type the keyboard key for any emoticon into the chat box, then press "Enter" to send the message to your friend. Your friend will then see your emoticon in the chat session window.
Step 2. Using emoticons in Facebook Status Updates
- Click on your profile page or "Home" link any time in your Facebook session to access your Status Updates section.
- Enter the keyboard key combination for the emoticon of your choice into the Status Update bar, then click the "Post" button. Your emoticons will then appear on your Wall and in your friends' News Feeds.
