This wikiHow teaches you how to ask questions in a Facebook Messenger chat group by creating a poll.
Step
Step 1. Open Messenger
This app is marked by a blue speech bubble icon with a white lightning bolt inside. Usually, you can find this icon on your device's home screen or app drawer.
Step 2. Select a chat group
Touch the name of the chat entry to open a conversation thread.
If you don't see the entry you want, use the “ Search ” (“Search”) at the top of the screen to search for chat entries by name (including the name of one of the group members).
Step 3. Touch +
It's in the blue circle in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Step 4. Swipe the screen from right to left and tap Polls (“Polls”)

Step 5. Type a question into the Ask Something field ("Ask a Question")
Step 6. Add multiple answer choices
If you don't want to ask an open question, touch “ + Add an option… ” (“Add option”) to add your own answer. Repeat this step until you have added all the answers.
Step 7. Choose an answer
You will need to provide your own answer to the vote before you can proceed. Tap the bubble to the left of the answer, or type your answer into the field if you didn't make a multiple-choice vote.
Step 8. Touch Submit Vote (“Create a Poll”)
The vote will be displayed in the chat group. When another member casts their vote, the voting result will be updated for all to see.
