When communicating with other Facebook users in Facebook Chat, there are several built-in emoticons and smileys that can be used to convey feelings and the overall message in a serious manner. By default, the middle finger icon is not a built-in feature in Facebook Chat, but you can use the emoji keyboard on your device to send it. If you are using a computer, copy and paste the characters in this article.

Method 1 of 2: Using the Emoji Keyboard
Step 1. Open the Facebook comment or message that you want to add the middle finger to
If your phone supports emoji, use it to add the middle finger symbol to your messages. Select the text field within Facebook to bring up the keyboard on your mobile device.

- iPhone - Tap the Smiley button next to the space bar. When the globe image appears, tap this image until the emoji keyboard appears. If the emoji keyboard remains inaccessible, check out the guide on How to get Emoji Icons on iPhone.
- Android - Tap the Smiley button next to the space bar. If the Smiley button doesn't appear, you may need to install a keyboard that supports emoji. Check out the details in How to Get Emojis on Android.
Step 3. Look for the hand symbol
Scroll through the Smileys and People section of the emoji keyboard until you find the hand symbol. This emoji is in the middle of the Smileys and People list. This is the first category in emoji keyboards, for both iPhone and Android.
Step 4. Tap on the middle finger symbol emoji
The middle finger will be included in your Facebook messages or comments. Most users will be able to see them, but people on older devices that don't support the newer Unicode characters won't be able to see them properly.
On iPhone, you may be asked to select a skin color (skin). If you select anything other than default, only people who use iPhone can see
Method 2 of 2: Using a Computer

Your middle finger character will be sent. The characters are definitely readable as long as the recipient is using a device that supports Unicode 7.0.
