This wikiHow teaches you how to save an image in a Telegram chat to your Android device's gallery. You can save images in the chat manually, or enable the automatic download of all images into the Gallery.

Method 1 of 2: Saving Images Manually
Step 1. Run Telegram on Android device
The icon is a white paper airplane on a blue background. Open Telegram by touching this icon on the home screen or Apps menu.
Step 2. Touch the chat containing the image
This will display all the messages that are in the chat.
Step 3. Touch the image you want to save
The image will be displayed in the center of the screen.
Do not touch and hold the image. This will bring up the option to forward the image via Telegram. Touch the image quickly to bring up the menu icon in the top right corner.
Step 4. Touch
You can find it in the upper right corner. This will bring up a menu.
If the menu button doesn't appear and there's a green check mark next to the image, you've pressed the image too long. Tap the "X" icon in the top-left corner of the page, then quickly tap the image again
Step 5. Touch Save to gallery
Now the image has been saved into the Android device gallery.
Method 2 of 2: Enabling Automatic Image Downloading
Step 1. Run Telegram on Android device
The icon is a white paper airplane on a blue background. Tap the Telegram icon on the home screen or Apps menu.
Step 2. Touch
It's an icon with 3 horizontal lines in the upper-right corner of the page. This will bring up a menu.
Step 3. Tap Settings at the bottom of the menu
You'll find it next to the gear-shaped icon.
Step 4. Touch Chat Settings
It's next to the icon that looks like a conversation bubble.
Step 5. Scroll down and tap the toggle next to "Save to Gallery"
By enabling this option, all images sent with Telegram will automatically be saved to the Android device's Gallery.
