Healthy hair will always feel soft and look shiny. Hair will be damaged and become brittle if it lacks natural oils that are useful for keeping hair moisturized. To overcome this, use a hair mask from natural ingredients, wet the hair with a certain liquid, and treat the hair with oil. In addition, there are other ways to treat hair to keep it healthy and avoid damage.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Using Hair Masks from Natural Ingredients
Step 1. Make a hair mask from avocado and banana
Take advantage of avocados and bananas to treat hair to keep it soft and shiny. Make a hair mask by mashing avocado and banana until it forms a paste. After the mask is applied evenly, massage the scalp gently. Leave it for 1 hour and then wash your hair thoroughly.
A mask of avocado and banana is useful to prevent split ends and increase hair elasticity
Step 2. Apply the avocado and egg yolk mixture on the hair
Mix avocado and egg yolks to make a hair softening mask. Add the egg yolks to the mashed avocado and mix until it forms a paste. Apply the mask on your hair and leave it on for about 30 minutes. After that, wash your hair thoroughly using warm water.
We recommend using a shampoo when shampooing so that no egg yolk is left in the hair
Step 3. Make a mask of mayonnaise
Mayonnaise is formed through an emulsion process of egg yolk and oil which is useful for oiling the hair to keep it soft and shiny. Apply mayonnaise on the hair evenly and leave it for about 30 minutes. After the mayonnaise is well absorbed, rinse your hair with warm water and then shampoo as usual with shampoo and conditioner.
- Use mayonnaise containing fat for best results.
- People with egg allergies should not use mayonnaise as a hair mask.
Step 4. Use a mask of gelatin
Just like other masks, gelatin also makes your hair soft and shiny. In order for your hair to get protein intake, mix 1 tablespoon of unflavored gelatin and 1 tablespoon of warm water. After mixing well, apply the mask on the hair. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
Wash your hair with shampoo and then use conditioner
Step 5. Take advantage of the gel from aloe vera leaves as a mask
Gel from aloe vera leaves is useful for treating hair to keep it soft and shiny. You can use the gel directly from the aloe vera leaf or buy the pure gel in the package. Apply the gel on the hair and massage gently from the roots to the ends of the hair. Make sure you use enough gel to spread it evenly from the roots to the tips of your hair. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and then rinse your hair thoroughly.
Continue the treatment by washing your hair as usual with shampoo and conditioner
Step 6. Use applesauce as a hair mask
Prepare a cup of applesauce or make your own by boiling small pieces of apple (without seeds and skin) until soft, then drain and mash. If you make your own applesauce, refrigerate it before using it. After that, apply evenly on the hair from the roots to the ends of the hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes then rinse.
Continue the treatment by washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner
Step 7. Make a hair mask from egg yolks
Mix three egg yolks with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of honey. Shake the ingredients until well mixed and then apply to the hair. Wrap your hair in a shower cap for 30 minutes. After that, wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner until your hair is clean of eggs.
- Use warm water to clean your hair, but don't overheat it as it will cook the egg yolks, making it difficult to clean the hair.
- If you don't like the smell or waste of raw eggs, buy packaged egg oil to reduce the risk of getting an infection with salmonella bacteria and prevent raw egg allergies.
Method 2 of 3: Using Warm Oil or Other Products
Step 1. Use warm oil to treat hair
Heat 4 tablespoons of coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, or castor oil in a skillet, but don't let it get too hot to the touch. Pour the oil into the hair and massage until the oil is absorbed by the hair roots and scalp. Once your hair is evenly greased, wrap your hair in a shower cap and then wrap it again with a warm towel. The heat from the oil and the towel will open the pores of the scalp so the oil can seep in and soften the hair.
After leaving it on for 10 minutes, wash your hair as usual to remove the oil
Step 2. Let the hair absorb the oil overnight
Before going to bed at night, apply olive oil or egg oil in packs. Massage your scalp so that the oil is evenly distributed from the roots to the tips of your hair and then put on a shower cap. To keep it from coming off easily, wrap a shower cap in a towel or wear a bandana and leave your hair wrapped up overnight. In the morning, wash your hair thoroughly.
Continue the treatment by washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner
Step 3. Treat hair with beer
Take advantage of beer to treat hair to keep it soft and shiny. Finish shampooing, water the hair with beer. Leave it for 5 minutes then rinse with water.
Another way: fill the beer into a spray bottle and then spray the beer into your hair after shampooing. Let the beer dry naturally as if you were using a conditioner that doesn't need to be rinsed off
Step 4. Treat your hair with apple cider vinegar
Hair will remain soft and shiny if treated with apple cider vinegar. Pour cup of apple cider vinegar into a cup of warm water and stir. Spray or pour apple cider vinegar on your hair after shampooing and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then, wash it with water to clean your hair.
This treatment is very useful for getting rid of dandruff or itching on the scalp
Method 3 of 3: Treating Hair in Other Ways
Step 1. Wash your hair every 2 days
Hair follicles will produce natural oils that make hair softer and shiny. Natural oils will be lost if you wash your hair too often with harsh chemical products (such as those found in most shampoos). While the natural oils will continue to build up making your hair look greasy, washing your hair every day will strip the healthy natural oils. To make your hair healthier and look more beautiful, wash it every 2-3 days.
- However, you should wash your hair every day if your hair is very fine or sweats a lot.
- Use dry shampoo to keep your hair looking fresh and clean.
- People with fine and thin hair should wash their hair every day, while those with thick or curly hair should wash their hair 1-2 times a week.
Step 2. Treat your hair with conditioner
Conditioner makes hair soft and shiny. So, apply a little conditioner after shampooing, but don't rinse your hair for too long. Rinse well enough until the conditioner dissolves, but the hair still feels slippery to maintain the softness and shine of the hair all day long.
- Before applying conditioner, first reduce the water that is still in the hair by twisting it so that the hair can absorb as much of the conditioner as possible.
- For fine or thin hair, apply conditioner only to the hair shaft, not at the roots.
Step 3. Use hair styling products that contain humectants
Humectants are special ingredients that work to draw moisture into the hair from the air and the surrounding environment. Read the information on the content of hair styling ingredients listed on the packaging and choose a product that contains:
- Glycerol
- Propylene glycol
- Butylene glycol
- Dipropylene glycol
- Hexanediol
- Honey bee
- Agave honey
Step 4. Avoid hot styling tools
Hair will become dry and split ends if you use a blow dryer, straightener, or curler. Dry, brittle and damaged hair is difficult to restore, making it look rough and dull. Use as little hot styling tools as possible or avoid them altogether. Let hair dry naturally after shampooing.
- To protect your hair while styling, apply a non-rinsing conditioner or spray a heat protectant if you have to use a hot styling tool.
- If used occasionally, the hot styling tool makes the hair look soft and beautiful, but the hair will be damaged if used repeatedly.
Step 5. Trim the split ends
The ends of the hair will split if left long too long so it looks unkempt and dry. To maintain healthy hair, cut your hair every 3-4 months so that the ends don't split.
Tips
- Get into the habit of using conditioner after shampooing to make hair softer.
- Choose shampoo and conditioner according to hair type because everyone's hair condition is different. So, buy the product that best suits your hair condition.
- Do not brush hair that is still wet. Instead, comb your hair with a round-tipped or wide-toothed comb to keep your hair soft and prevent breakage!
