Straightening your hair using a hair iron will take your time, sometimes taking more than an hour if your hair is very thick and curly. Even so, not everyone has a lot of time to spend just styling their hair every day. With a little practice, you will be able to straighten your hair in a very short time.
Step
Step 1. Make sure your hair is clean
Clean hair is easier to straighten and won't burn easily. Unless you have very oily hair, you don't need to wash it again if you washed it the day before. If the last time you shampooed was more than a day ago, wash your hair again. If you don't have time, you can use dry shampoo.
Step 2. Always use a heat protectant
It may take a little time, but it is very good for your hair. Spray a small amount of straightening serum and spread the serum over your hair by brushing it to protect your hair from the heat of the straightener.
Step 3. Turn your iron on as hot as your hair can accept
Set the temperature that is comfortable for you, don't exceed it. As a guide, try a low heat setting for fine and fine hair, a high heat setting for thick and curly hair, and a medium heat setting for blends. If your hair breaks easily, don't risk damaging it, and wait a few more minutes for the appliance to heat up. A good hairstyle is not worth repairing damaged hair for months.
Step 4. Raise most of your hair
In most people's hair, you can usually find natural layers that stick together. Raise all hair, except for the bottom layer, with bobby pins or a hair tie.
Step 5. Align the bottom layer
Quickly align this layer, and only once run the alignment of each section. No one will see this section unless you raise your hair, or it will create a bulge in the top layer of hair caused by a hair tie or something. Once you're done straightening the bottom layer, drop another layer, and straighten it. Repeat until all your hair is straight. This actually saves time because you're straightening fewer sections of hair at higher heat, so it takes less time to straighten each section.
Alternatively, straighten your bangs and tie the rest of your hair into a ponytail. Straighten your ponytail until it is completely straight. Then, remove your ponytail and straighten the hair that is not yet straight (former pigtails/bubbles)
Step 6. When you're done, brush your hair, and if you want, spray your hair with hairspray

Tips
- Brush the section of hair you are going to straighten just before you start straightening it. This will untangle the frizz and make the hair perfectly straight.
- Remember: Straightening your hair while it's still soaking will cause it to boil. Be careful.
- The thicker your hair, the less sections of hair you have to take when straightening it. If you have very thick hair, you should do this by dividing it into smaller strands. This way, you'll do it faster because it will require less effort in the alignment process.
- When you get to the ends of your hair, turn them into your ironing tool, this will make your hair look super smooth, and will reduce the look of split ends.
- When you're done straightening, blow a blow dryer on your hair on a cool setting. This will keep your hair straight!
- Don't heat your hair while it's still wet - the water will turn to steam and burn you.
- Watch the weather for the day to see if it won't rain or if it's humid. That way, your efforts won't be wasted, and you won't smell like burnt hair all day long.
- Ceramic straighteners do much less damage to hair than metal ones. Try buying a hair straightener made of ceramic.
-
If you have time, wash your hair very quickly to remove any hair product that may have been in your hair from the night before. Applying more product will make your hair greasy.
Dry your hair with a hairdryer at least until your hair is damp
- Try to do it as quickly and CAREFULLY as possible.
- If you want straighter hair faster, go to a salon and ask them what kind of hair iron they use to straighten their hair. Usually the type of hair iron they use is expensive, but will get the job done faster and have a better finish than a regular hair iron for two hundred fifty thousand rupiah.
- Don't worry too much about layers of hair from the middle to the bottom. Unless someone lifts the top layer of your hair, or you have a layer of curly hair on the bottom, you'll be fine.
Warning
- Never, never leave the straightener plugged into a power source when you are not using it. Hair straighteners are known to burn entire homes.
- Don't straighten your hair every day. It can and will dry out your hair.
- Do not straighten your hair for too long, otherwise it can cause serious damage to your hair.
- Don't use too much product to keep your hair straight throughout the day – this will only make it greasy and will make your hair too limp on the top of your head.
- If the temperature of the straightener is high, be careful not to touch your hair after straightening it.
- Be careful not to burn yourself if you are straightening your hair in a hurry.
- Keep your fingers away from the hot parts of the straightener.
- Depending on the thickness of your hair, the time required for the straightening process may vary.
- Always use a heat protectant on your hair. If you don't, you will regret it.
