This wikiHow teaches you how to clear site data and browsing history in Safari. You can delete all data at once, or select the type of data you want to delete (history, cookies, or cache).

Method 1 of 3: Clearing Site History and Data

Step 1. Open the Settings app
You can find this app with a gray cog icon on your phone's home screen.

Step 2. Swipe the screen, then tap the Safari option at the bottom center of the page

Step 3. Scroll down, then tap on Clear History and Website Data option

Step 4. Tap Clear History and Data to delete all history, cookies, and site data stored on the device
On the iPad, the button is labeled clear.
Method 2 of 3: Clearing Site Data

Step 1. Open the Settings app
You can find this app with a gray cog icon on your phone's home screen.

Step 2. Swipe the screen, then tap the Safari option at the bottom center of the page

Step 3. Swipe the screen, then tap on Advanced option

Step 4. Tap Website Data
A list of sites that store data on your device will appear.

Step 5. Tap Edit in the top right corner of the screen

Step 6. Tap the - button next to the site address

Step 7. Tap Delete to delete the site's data, such as cache and cookies
If you want to delete all site data, but want to preserve the history, tap the Remove All Website Data button at the bottom of the list
Method 3 of 3: Clear Browsing History

Step 1. Open Safari
You can find the app with a blue icon bearing the compass symbol in the menu bar at the bottom of the home screen.

Step 2. Tap the Bookmarks button
This open book-shaped button can be found at the bottom of the screen.
If you're using an iPad, find the Bookmarks button in the upper-left corner of the screen

Step 3. Tap History

Step 4. Swipe left on any of the sites in the list
