By changing the resolution of your computer screen to a smaller one, you can make the elements displayed on the screen larger, making documents and text easier to read. You can also make the elements displayed on the screen smaller so that you can see more of the data by changing the resolution of the computer screen to a larger one. Windows computer screen resolution can be changed in Control Panel or Settings, and Mac OS X computer screen resolution can be changed in System Preferences.

Method 1 of 5: Windows 8
Step 1. Right-click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution
Step 2. On the "Resolution" menu, click and move the scrollable button up or down to select the desired screen resolution
The lower the screen resolution, the larger the elements and text on the screen will appear; the higher the screen resolution, the smaller the elements and text on the screen will appear.
Step 3. Select “Apply
” and the screen resolution will change.

Step 1. Right-click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution

Step 1. Click “Start” and select “Control Panel
” The Control Panel window will open on the screen.
Click “Switch to Classic View” in the left pane of the Control Panel if the icon does not appear. You must enable Classic View to be able to change the screen resolution
Step 2. Click “Display,” then click “Settings” to display the “Screen Resolution” menu
Step 3. Move the swivel button left or right to select the desired screen resolution

” The System Preferences window will open on the screen.
Step 2. Click “Displays,” and select the “Display” menu
Step 3. Click “Scaled,” and select a screen resolution from the available settings

If you are connected to another screen, press and hold the “Option” key, and click “Scaled” to change the resolution of the second screen
Step 4. Close the System Preferences window
The screen resolution changes.
