This wikiHow teaches you how to save and view Snapchat messages you've sent. To view sent Snaps at a later date, save the snap before sending it.

Method 1 of 2: Using the Memories Feature
Step 1. Tap the white ghost icon on a yellow background to open Snapchat
If you're not logged into Snapchat, tap Login, then enter your username (or email address) and password.
Step 2. Tap the circle button at the bottom of the screen to take a photo, or hold down the button to record a video
- Don't tap the little circle button. This button will open the features Memories.
- Tap the camera icon in the upper right corner of the screen to change the camera used. You can use the front or rear camera to take photos.
Step 3. Edit the snap
You can add a shape, image, or text to a snap before sending it by tapping the following icons:
- Pencil - Tap this icon to draw on your snap. Change the pen color by dragging your finger up or down on the color slider on the right side of the screen.
- Text - Tap the letter T icon to add text. To change the text size and color, tap the button T when selecting a specific text. Change the color of the text by dragging your finger up or down on the color slider on the right of the screen.
- Decal - Tap the square icon next to the T icon to add a custom emoji or sticker at the top of the snap.
- Scissors - Tap this icon, and select a specific part of the snap to make that part a sticker.
Step 4. Tap the down arrow icon at the bottom of the screen, right next to the timer, to download the snap to Memories
- Memories are photos and videos that you save on Snapchat.
- By default, Snapchat saves Memories in albums in the app.
Step 5. Tap the white arrow icon at the bottom of the screen
Step 6. Tap on the friend's name
After you send the Snap, your chosen friend will receive it.
You can also tap My Story at the top of the page to send a Snap to all your friends.
Step 7. Tap the white arrow again to snap the selected friend (or on the Story page)
Step 8. Swipe the screen to the left to return to the camera interface
Step 9. Tap the circle below the camera button
The Memories screen will open. On this screen, you can do several things:
- Tap the most recent snap to display it in full screen.
- Swipe left or right when displaying memory in full screen to switch between memories.
- Swipe down while displaying memory in full screen to return to the Memories page.
- You can also save memory to your phone.
Method 2 of 2: Displaying Sent Messages
Step 1. Tap the white ghost icon on a yellow background to open Snapchat
If you're not logged into Snapchat, tap Login, then enter your username (or email address) and password.
Step 2. Swipe the screen to the right to open the chat menu
Step 3. Tap one of the contacts you want to chat with
A chat window with the person will appear.
You can also enter the username in the search bar at the top of the screen to search for that user
Step 4. Write a message in the "Send a Chat" field at the bottom of the screen
Select a photo from the camera album by tapping the icon in the lower-left corner of the screen
Step 5. Tap Send to send the message to the friend
Step 6. After sending the message, tap and hold on the message
After that, you will receive a "SAVED" notification on the left of the chat bar. Your message will be saved in the chat.
