This wikiHow teaches you how to create bordered text in a Microsoft Word document.
Step

Step 1. Create or open a Microsoft Word document
Do this step by opening an application that looks like a letter W blue and white, then click File on the menu bar, then click:
- New Document to create a new document; or
- Open… to open an existing document.

Step 2. Mark the text you want to convert to bordered

Step 3. Click "Text Effects"

Step 4. Click Outline

Step 5. Change the outline effect
To do so:
- Choose a border color.
- Click menu Weight to determine the thickness of the outline.
- Click menu Dashes if you want dotted outlines.
- Click Automatic to use the default border setting.
