In simple terms, torrents are files that are shared between computers without an intermediary server. Files are distributed from the sender (or seeder) to the client (or leecher/peer) that made the request. Use Torrent to download the movies, music and games you want. However, keep in mind that seeding copyrighted material is illegal in many countries.
Step
Step 1. Download Torrent at www.utorrent.com
Torrent is available for various operating systems, so make sure you download Torrent for Mac. After that, save the program in a specific location, such as the Desktop or the downloads folder.
- Once the download is complete, double-click uTorrent.dmg to extract the program.
- Drag Torrent to the Applications folder.
Step 2. Double click torrent to open the program
Once the program is open, you will still have to search online for the torrent you want.
The torrent installation program will try to install various junk programs, including the. To avoid this, make sure you read the installation instructions carefully and only tick the necessary checkboxes
Step 3. Visit a trusted torrent site, then search for the torrent you want by typing keywords in the search bar
To get the right results, make sure you use specific keywords.
- For example, if you search for "WWE", you will see a lot of search results, including the ones you don't want. To find a suitable torrent, try doing a search with specific keywords, such as "WWE Wrestlemania 29 New York/New Jersey Full Event".
- If you don't know a torrent site, search for the name of the movie/music/book/game you want, followed by "torrent", in a search engine. You may also need to add "mac" at the end of the keyword.
Step 4. Pay attention to the search results, especially some of the initial results
Choose the torrent you want based on the file size (the bigger the file, the better the quality, but the longer it will take to download) and the required file type (avi, mkv, mp4, etc).
- If you can't choose, choose the file with the most seeders.
- Click on the file, then pay attention to the comments column. Find comments stating that the file is open, high quality, as expected, etc. If you can't find a matching comment, don't download the file.
Step 5. Download the torrent by clicking on the magnet link or Get this Torrent
Make sure you don't click download direct, " "download, or magnet download. These links usually invite unwanted pop-up ads.
- When you download a torrent, you will start sharing the portion of the file that you have downloaded.
- Once the download is complete, torrent will continue to upload files to other torrent users. To stop the upload process, exit torrent, or delete the file from the list.
Step 6. Wait for the torrent to finish downloading
torrent will open the torrent link or file automatically, or you will be asked to select torrent as the program to open the file. After that, a second Torrent window will appear. Click "OK" in the lower-right corner of the window.
- The download time will depend on the size of the file and the number of seeders, or the person sharing the file.
- The more seeders that share the file, the faster the download will complete, because the torrent will download parts of the file.
Step 7. After the download process is complete, click the Completed tab to access the file
You can open the file by right-clicking the file and selecting Show in Finder, or clicking the magnifying glass icon.
If you downloaded a movie, right-click the file, then click Open With and select your favorite media player
Tips
- Always check the number of seeders and leechers on the torrent. The more seeders, the faster the torrent download process. On the other hand, the more leechers, the slower the download process.
- Check if the torrent was uploaded by a trusted user. Generally, trusted users are marked with a purple or green skull next to their username.
