This wikiHow teaches you how to re-download previously purchased and deleted apps and music from your iPhone.

Method 1 of 2: Re-Downloading the App
Step 1. Open App Store on iPhone
This application is marked by a light blue icon with the letter “A” formed from a writing tool. Usually, you can find it on your device's home screen.
Step 2. Touch Updates
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Touch Purchased
It's at the top of the page.
Step 4. Touch My Purchases
It's at the top of the page.
If you're using an iPhone 5S or earlier, skip this step
Step 5. Touch Not on This iPhone
This tab is at the top of the page, to the right of the “ All You can find all the apps you've purchased on iPhone before on this page.
Step 6. Find the app you want to re-download
The apps on this page are listed in chronological order (most recently downloaded to oldest) so you may need to scroll through the screen to find the app you want.
There will be no charge for re-downloading the app
Step 7. Touch the cloud icon
This icon is to the right of the desired application. Once touched, the app will be downloaded to the iPhone.
Method 2 of 2: Downloading Music Back
Step 1. Open iTunes Store
This app is marked by a purple icon with a musical note in a white circle.
This app is different from the Music app or the App Store
Step 2. Touch More
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Touch Purchased
It's at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Touch Music
This option is the top choice on the page.
Step 5. Touch Not on This iPhone
It's a tab in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 6. Touch the artist name
After that, you will be taken to the page where you can re-download certain albums or songs that you have purchased.
Step 7. Touch the cloud icon to the right of the song or album
This icon has a blue arrow pointing downwards. Once touched, the selected music will be downloaded back to the Music app.
You can see the status " DOWNLOADED " in the place previously occupied by the cloud icon after the music has finished downloading
Step 8. Press the “Home” button of the device
After that, the iTunes Store window will be hidden.
Step 9. Open Music
This app is marked by a white icon with colorful musical notes.
Step 10. Find the downloaded music again in the "Recently Added" section
When you open the Music app, a page with a "Recently Added" section will appear at the bottom. Recently downloaded songs or albums will be displayed here.
- You may need to touch" Library ” in the lower left corner of the screen first.
- If you don't see your recently downloaded music in the “Recently Added” section, tap “ Search ” in the lower-right corner of the screen and type in the title of the song or album. After that, the music will be searched in the device library.
Tips
- This process can also be followed on the iPad.
- You can't re-download music from the App Store, but you can use iTunes to re-sync songs.
