This wikiHow teaches you how to reduce the number of people who can send friend requests to Facebook by changing the friend request filter, from “Everyone” to “Friends of Friends” (“Friends of Friends”). While you can't disable friend requests entirely, changing the filter can drastically reduce the number of users you can befriend.

Method 1 of 2: Via Mobile Device
Step 1. Open Facebook
This app is marked by a dark blue icon with a white “f” on it. After that, the news feed will be displayed if you are already logged in to your Facebook account.
If you're not logged in, first enter your email address (or phone number) and password

It's in the lower-right corner of the screen (iPhone) or in the upper-right corner of the screen (Android).

Step 4. Touch the Account Settings option

Step 6. Select Who can send you friend requests? (“Who can send you friend requests?
”).

Step 7. Select Friends of friends
This is the second option displayed at the top of the screen. After that, anyone who isn't on your friends list can't arbitrarily add you as a friend on Facebook.

Step 1. Visit the Facebook website
You can visit it at If you are already logged in to your account, you will be taken directly to the news feed page.
If you're not logged into your account, first enter your email address (or phone number) and password in the fields in the upper-right corner of the screen
Step 2. Click the button
It's in the upper-right corner of the Facebook window.
Step 3. Click Settings (“Settings”)
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Click Privacy (“Privacy”)
This tab is on the left side of the settings page.
Step 5. Click Edit (“Edit”) next to “Who can contact me? " (“Who can contact me?”).
This section is in the middle row of the page.
Step 6. Click Everyone
This box is below the "Who can send you friend requests?"
Step 7. Select Friends of friends
This option is in the drop-down menu. After that, Facebook will set the friend request settings to " Friends of friends " so that people outside your friend group cannot send you friend requests.
