Having Sims is fun, but it will be more fun if you have several identical/twin Sims. Sims twins or triplets can add a new element of strategy and Sims 3 fun to play. If you're looking to try to get twins or triplets in Sims 3, read this article to maximize your chances.
Step
Part 1 of 2: The Basic Game
Step 1. Get Fertility Treatment for both parents
Fertility Treatment is a Lifetime Reward that can be purchased if you have 10,000 Happiness points. You earn Happiness points as long as your Sims are in a good mood, and you can earn significant bonuses for fulfilling Sims wishes and completing Lifetime Wishes.
- Click the triangle button labeled “Sim Panel”.
- Click the treasure chest labeled Lifetime Happiness.
- Click the Lifetime Rewards button.
- Scroll until you find Fertility Treatment. The price of this reward is 10,000 points.
- For maximum effectiveness, both parents should have this reward.
Step 2. Get Sims pregnant
In order to have twins or triplets of the opposite sex, both Sims who are the parents must have a high love relationship. The Relationship bar will need to be at least almost full in order for your Sims to get pregnant.
When the two Sims get intimate, the "Try for Baby" option will appear in the Romance menu. You must use this option; WooHoo does not result in pregnancy. If you hear a lullaby when both Sims are done, and the female Sims no longer have the option to run, it means she's pregnant
Step 3. Tell the mother to do pregnant activities
Once your Sims is pregnant, she should continue to watch Kidz Zone on television, listen to the Children's Music radio station, and listen to pregnancy books. You have a few days in the game before Mom Sims gives birth, and she should perform as many of these actions as possible.
Try to keep the mother happy throughout the pregnancy so that you have control over the new baby's traits
Step 4. Select a gender (optional)
Decide if you want a boy or a girl. If you want a boy, eat 3 or more apples in a row during the first two days of pregnancy. If you want a girl, eat 3 or more watermelons in a row during the first two days of pregnancy.
Step 5. Have children
Once your Sims have given birth, it's time to take care of their new puppies. Make sure you have enough money in savings because raising two children is much more expensive than one child.
Part 2 of 2: Additional Options
Step 1. Anticipate a large family if you have Showtime
If you have Showtime, you can expect a big family with Genie. Sims will acquire the moodlet, "Feeling Fertile", which will last until both Sims Try for Baby; this interaction will automatically produce triplets.
Step 2. Drink Procreation Elixir if you have Supernatural
If you have Supernatural, drinking the Procreation Elixir will give Sims a "Twinkle in the Eye" moodlet for 8 hours. Trying to have a baby within those 8 hours will automatically result in twins or triplets.
Step 3. Massage female Sims using the Infinite Zen Massage Table
If you massage a female Sim using the Infinite Zen Massage Table (available at The Sims 3 Store), she will receive the "High Fertility" moodlet for 24 hours. Trying to have a baby for 24 hours will result in twins or triplets.
Tips
- Sims will get the "Sore Back" moodlet while pregnant. Getting a massage from the spa or her husband will cure this moodt.
- Make sure you read pregnancy books when your Sims are pregnant. If you don't have any pregnancy books at home, remember that there are libraries and bookstores. After you finish reading the pregnancy book, you can choose two traits when the baby is born!
- Make sure you monitor the number of Sims that will stay in the house or you won't be able to get the Sims pregnant for a long time.
Warning
- If you don't have enough room at home for more than one child, your Sims can't have twins or triplets.
- If your Sims are unhappy or sad during pregnancy, their child will have negative traits.
