Many Pokémon fans were surprised to learn that the usual methods used to catch the Regi Trio (Regirock, Regice, and Registeel) were no longer usable in Pokémon Emerald. However, don't worry. Step 1. Get Relicanth, Wailord, and another Pokémon that has a Move (type of attack Pokémon) called Dig
It's a good idea to place Relicanth in first place and Wailord in Party last position (the lineup of Pokémon brought by the player). Also, we recommend that you bring a Braille translator. Braille is a written language composed of dots that is usually used by people who cannot see.
Step 2. Get the Ultra Ball and Timer Ball and go to the Sealed Chamber
You can reach the Sealed Chamber by going to the stream that is between Slateport City and Pacifidlog Town. It's between Route 132 and Route 134. You have to go to the bottom of Route 134. While walking along Route 134, you'll find a hole that you can dive into. To be able to dive, you need a Pokémon that has a Move called Dive. After diving, you will enter a cave. Follow the cave passage. When you arrive at the Sealed Chamber, head to the north of the area to find the first Braille. Then, use a Move named Dig. Pass through the door that appears and keep walking north until you find the next Braille. When you have found the Braille, press the "A" key. An earthquake will appear and a door will appear for each Pokémon Regi area.
Step 3. Watch out for Regi Trio's attacks
Regirock, Regice, and Registeel have their own Moves named Curse, Superpower, Ancient Power, and special Moves.
Step 4. Enter the Desert Ruins to find Regirock
It was at the bottom of the desert near Mauville. Find Braille and press the "A" key to read it. After that, walk two steps to the left and two steps down. Use a Move named Rock Smash. Save game data (save game) and fight Regirock. Notice that the Pokémon has a Move called Rock Throw.
Step 5. Enter the Ruin on Route 105 to find Regice
Find Braille and press the "A" key to read it. Note that you must continue to walk near the wall and explore the area by following the counter-clockwise direction to find Regice. You can walk, run or use a bicycle to explore the area. Save game data and fight Regice. Note that the Pokémon has a Move named Icy Wind. Watch out for Regice's attacks as Icy Wind can reduce the Pokémon's Speed. In addition, he also often uses a Move called Curse. Therefore, bring a Pokémon that has a Move named Yawn.
Step 6. Enter the Ruin on Route 120 to find Registeel
You have to surf under the bridge. Note that you need a Pokémon that has a Move named Surf to surf. Find Braille and press the "A" key to read it. Go to the center of the room and use a Move called Flash. Save game data and fight Registeel. Note that the Pokémon has a Move called Metal Claw.
Step 7. Get 50 Ultra Balls and 50 Timer Balls
Reduce a Pokémon's HP as much as possible and attack it with a Move that puts it to Sleep to increase your chances of getting that Pokémon.
Step 8. Remember to save game data before turning off your Game Boy Advance or Nintendo DS
Tips
- Attack the Regi Trio until the color of their HP turns red. After that, use a Pokémon that has a Move that can reduce or increase its stat. Use the Timer Ball to catch it. Note that the more turns in a fight, the more powerful the Timer Ball.
- If you've never entered a Regice, Regirock, or Registeel area, bring a Pokémon that has an Electric-type Move to defeat any weak Trainers (trainers or characters that have Pokémon).
- Make sure the Pokémon is in Sleep state to increase your chances of catching the Pokémon.
Warning
- Save your game data. This is very important. Many players do not save game data. As a result, if they accidentally faint Regirock, Regice, or Registeel (Fainted), they cannot restart the game and fight back the Pokémon.
- Don't use Master Ball if you only have one fruit only. If you use Master Ball, you will only use it in vain. Try using Timer Balls, Poke Balls, Great Balls, Ultra Balls and other items. Master Ball is a very valuable item. Therefore, use these items only to catch Rayquaza, Latios, Latias, or other very rare Pokémon. Apart from that, you can also use the Pokémon clone trick.
