Step 1. Talk to Cynthia's grandmother in Celestic Town
He will read a book about Legendary Pokémon.
Step 2. Purchase Ultra Balls
There are no Poké Marts in Celestic Town so you have to buy them at an elderly couple's house in the northwest of the city. Grandpa has Dusk Ball and Grandma has Ultra Ball.
Step 3. Find the Adamant Orb and the Lustrous Orb
Both are hidden in the inner chambers of Mt. Coronet near the top end of the waterfall.

Step 4. Go to the Spear Pillar
Once you have the Adamant Orb and Lustrous Orb, you'll be able to find the Dialga and Palkia cracks at the top of the mountain.
Step 5. Save the game
Do this just in case you accidentally beat or get beat by Dialga.
Step 6. Enter the blue portal and catch Dialga
You will start the fight against Dialga when you enter the portal so be prepared.
- Dialga is level 70 and is a Steel-Dragon type with skill Roar of Time which is very powerful and will make your Pokémon lose.
- Use Ultra Ball to catch Dialga quickly. You need to use some Ultra Balls to successfully catch Dialga.
- When you catch Dialga, you will be transported out of the blue crack and back into the Spear Pillar. The blue crack is still visible, but is now empty.
Step 7. Save the game
After successfully catching Dialga, save the game so you don't have to catch it again if you have to upload the game later.
Step 8. Leave the area and re-enter
Now, we will try to bring up the Palkia portal so you need to leave the area and come back again. You will see a pink portal.
You can save the game again if you want, but save the game immediately after capturing Dialga. So when you reload the game, just exit the area and return to the Spear Pillar
Step 9. Enter the pink portal and catch Palkia
You will start a fight with Palkia when you enter the portal so be prepared.
- Palkia is level 70 and is a Water-Dragon type with skill Spatial Rend which is very powerful and will make your Pokémon lose.
- Use Ultra Ball to catch Palkia quickly. You can use multiple Ultra Balls to successfully capture Palkia.
- When you catch Palkia, you will be transported out of the pink crack back into the Spear Pillar. The pink crack could still be seen, but it was now empty.
Tips
- It is highly recommended to use Dusk Ball and Ultra Ball.
- Use Quick Ball to catch Dialga and Palkia quickly, although you may need to reset a few times.
- If you have a Master Ball, please use it immediately.
- Save the game before the fight, in case you accidentally beat or beat Palkia.
