You certainly love your pet dog, but unfortunately sometimes he causes problems at home by urinating indiscriminately. Dry urine has a strong ammonia smell and is difficult to get rid of. By immediately cleaning up fresh urine, removing the smell of old urine, and preventing your dog from urinating, you can get rid of the smell of dog urine and freshen up the air in the house.

Method 1 of 4: Handling Fresh Urine
Step 1. Immediately remove the existing urine
If you notice your dog is urinating at home and the urine stains are still wet, remove the urine immediately with a clean towel. This step is done to absorb as much urine as possible so that the liquid is not absorbed deeper into the carpet or furniture upholstery.
Step 2. Use a mixture of water and a few drops of soap to moisten the area that is exposed to urine
Take a bowl of warm water and add a few drops of mild soap. Use a clean towel to wipe the soiled area with the soapy water mixture, and wipe off any excess urine and soapy water with a dry towel. You can do this several times until there are no more urine stains left.
Step 3. Sprinkle baking soda on the urine affected area
You can sprinkle a few tablespoons of baking soda, which acts as a natural deodorant on the urine affected area. Make sure you sprinkle it evenly. Do not use more than 120 grams of baking soda because using it in excessive amounts will make the baking soda more difficult to clean. Let the baking soda sit on the stain overnight.
Step 4. Remove the baking soda using a vacuum cleaner
If your dog is urinating on the carpet, use a large vacuum cleaner to remove any remaining baking soda on the stain the next day. If your dog is urinating on a mattress or upholstered furniture surface, use a hand (or smaller) vacuum cleaner to remove the baking soda.
Method 2 of 4: Removing Odors from Carpets and Fabrics
Step 1. Use water to wet the area with the urine stain
If the urine has been stuck for a long time and has a very strong smell, you may need to moisten or moisten the stain. Prepare a bowl of warm water and two clean towels. Use one towel to moisten the stain, and the other to blot and dry it. Follow this step several times to soak up the stain and odor as much as possible.

Method 3 of 4: Removing Urine Smell from Wooden Floors
Step 1. Use a mixture of water and vinegar in a 1:1 ratio
Smells on wood floors are hard to get rid of, but luckily, wood is more “tolerant” of stronger cleaning products/materials. Mix water and vinegar in an equal ratio (50%:50%). Rub the mixture on the urine stain vigorously with a soft sponge. Let stand for 5-10 minutes, then remove the mixture using a dry, clean towel.
You can sprinkle a few tablespoons of baking soda on the stain as an additional cleaning agent after cleaning it with the vinegar-water mixture. Remove the baking soda using a vacuum cleaner after leaving it on the stain for a few hours or overnight
Step 2. Use a hydrogen peroxide mask
Soak a face cloth or hand towel in a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution until it is damp (but not soggy and dripping). Squeeze the towel if necessary, then cover the area with the urine stain. Leave it for 2-3 hours to allow the hydrogen peroxide solution to neutralize the odor on the stain.
If the floor is still damp or wet when you remove a towel that has been moistened with a hydrogen peroxide solution, wipe the floor with a clean cloth to dry
Step 3. Scrub the wooden floor using sandpaper and re-coat with varnish
If the odor sticking to the stain doesn't go away, you can sand the hardwood floor (especially the stained area). However, this step is not an easy option (or can be underestimated) because the process is time-consuming and expensive. However, sanding the floor can be the best option to remove odors that have settled in the deeper layers of the wood. Sanding can remove the top layer of wood and remove odors effectively by polishing the surface of the stained layer. Sanding can be done more easily on unvarnished hardwood floors (eg patio, deck, or balcony floors). However, you can still do this for lacquered hardwood floors (e.g. hardwood floors in your home). Method 4 of 4: Preventing Urine Odor Appearing
Step 1. Try to walk your dog more often
If he is not taken for long walks, there is a good chance he will poop inside the house. Make sure you take him outside to go to the bathroom at least four times a day (more often if he is very old or very young, or if he is weak). If necessary, hire a dog walker (dog walker) to come to the house so that the needs of your pet dog can be met.
