Henna powder is a quick and easy-to-apply nail polish that has become a popular choice in nail salons. It's easy to clean, you can even do it yourself at home. You can blot the henna powder with acetone and foil, or soak it in acetone. Whichever method you choose, you will get beautiful and healthy nails.

Method 1 of 2: Using Aluminum Paper
Step 1. Smooth the surface of each nail with a file
Removing the top coat of shiny henna powder is essential for cleaning it. Scrub your nails evenly and thoroughly with the file – this will make the henna powder come off more efficiently.
Step 2. Soak a cotton ball in pure aceto
You can tear a cotton ball into small pieces the size of each nail, or use a whole cotton ball to soak it in pure acetone. Each piece of cotton will be used on one nail.
The cotton swab shouldn't be too wet, but it should soak up the acetone to wet the nails
Step 3. Wrap aluminum foil to hold the cotton used
Once all the cotton balls are moistened with acetone, place each cotton ball over your nails. Wrap the nail in small strips of foil and make sure the paper covers the entire nail and keeps the cotton from falling off.
Partially wrapping your finger can ensure that the foil is firmly attached
Step 4. Wait 10-15 minutes for your nails to absorb the acetone
Allowing the acetone to soak into the surface of the nail for 10-15 minutes will make it work effectively. Try not to move the cotton or the foil too often during this process.
Step 5. Remove the foil and cotton from the nails
When removing the foil and cotton pad, gently press each nail so the cotton sticks to the henna powder and loosens it. Remove all the foil and cotton wool, then clean any remaining stains with a file.
Method 2 of 2: Soaking Nails with Acetone
Step 1. Clean the surface of each nail with a file
Use a file to smooth the surface of the nail decorated with henna powder. This serves to help the acetone seep into the henna powder more efficiently.
Step 2. Put the hot water in a large bowl or plate
Find a bowl that can accommodate another smaller bowl and fill it with hot water. The water doesn't need to be boiling – you should still be able to touch the water. You can heat the water in the microwave for a minute to get it to the right temperature.
Step 3. Place 1-2 small bowls in a bowl of hot water to soak the nails
If you want to soak both hands at the same time, you'll need to find two bowls that will fit together in a large bowl. The easiest way to do this is to use 1 small bowl that fits into a large bowl, then alternately soak your hands.
When choosing a smaller bowl, make sure it's big enough to hold five of your nails at once
Step 4. Dip a paper towel in the acetone solution
Then place it in a smaller bowl. Fold a paper towel in two or three folds, then moisten it with pure acetone. The wipes don't need to be so wet that the liquid drips off, but make sure they're moist enough to clean your nails.
Step 5. Soak your nails in the bowl for 10-15 minutes
Leave your nails in the acetone for 10-15 minutes to make sure the liquid soaks into the henna powder. If you're not soaking both hands at the same time, soak the nails in each hand for 10-15 minutes.
To reduce the pungent smell of acetone, place a towel over your hands and the bowl you are using. You should also open windows or turn on ventilation fans
Step 6. Wipe the henna powder with a kitchen paper towel
After 10-15 minutes, remove the nails from the bowl and wipe them with a paper towel. If there is still henna powder stuck to it, use a file to clean it up.
