Tips

  • If the video you want to share is too large to send via Discord, you can upload it to a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, or iCloud Drive. All of these services allow you to share links to uploaded files anywhere you want, including to Discord channels or private messages. Even if you're not basically sending videos through Discord, this alternative can be useful.
  • You can also upload videos to YouTube or other video streaming sites and share the link on Discord channels or chats. YouTube allows you to upload videos up to 15 minutes long without using a verified account. You only need to verify your account if you want to upload longer videos.
  • Video editing software like Handbrake or QuickTime are excellent options for reducing video file sizes.
  • Discord's built-in media player can play MP4, MOV, and WEBM format videos. If the video has another format, the recipient of the video must open it with another application.
