Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a game that puts character skills first. Every time you level up your skills, you get closer and closer to the next character level. The leveling up process takes a while if you play by the rules. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to take it a step further and improve your skills quickly.
Step
Part 1 of 8: Leveling Up Magic “Illusion” Quickly
Step 1. Purchase the “Muffle” spell to increase your illusion skill (“Illusion”)
This spell can be used early and has a large impact on the level of illusion magic. You can buy it in several locations. As the easiest location option, visit Farengar in Dragonsreach which is in Whiterun.
Step 2. Cast the “Muffle” spell on yourself over and over again
After the effect wears off, repeat the spell to yourself.
Step 3. Use the "Wait" function to wait for an hour when you run out of Magicka
Magicka levels will quickly refill and you can return to using the "Muffle" spell.
Step 4. Repeat the process until you reach the desired level
This process does not take much time because the "Muffle" spell can increase the skill level of "Illusion" significantly.
Part 2 of 8: Leveling Up Magic “Destruction” Quickly
Step 1. Complete the series of "Dark Brotherhood" tasks to level up your destructive magic or "Destruction"
You need to complete a series of tasks in order to buy a "Torture Chamber" which can later be used to quickly level up "Destruction".
After completing the "Hail, Sithis!" task, you can start the "Where You Hang Your Enemy's Head" task by talking to Nazir. Purchase “Torture Chamber” for 5,000 gold
Step 2. Attack the people in the torture chamber with a destructive spell or “Destruction”, without killing them
Cast the spell so you can hurt the people in the room. Make sure you don't kill them because they won't appear or come back to life.
- You can enchant equipment with a "Destruction cost reduction" spell. This spell will decrease the amount of Magicka needed to cast other spells.
- Use healing magic to restore injured prisoners to level up “Restoration”.
Step 3. Keep attacking and recovering prisoners to full “Destruction” level
This process takes about an hour. You can wait for an hour (within the duration of the game) for Magicka to recharge once it runs out.
Part 3 of 8: Leveling Up Skill “Alteration” Quickly
Step 1. Get the “Detect Life” spell
This spell is one of the most effective solutions to increase the level of " Alteration " quickly. You can get this spell in several ways:
- You can find them as loot from enemies.
- You can buy them from Tolfdir in Winterhold, or Wylandriah at Mistveil Keep.
- You can get the spell as a reward after completing the "Infiltration" task from Stalleo in Treva's Watch.
Step 2. Visit a crowded area
The "Detect Life" spell provides a huge bonus when it detects multiple people at once. Visit a big city like Whiterun or a crowded inn.
Step 3. Cast the “Detect Life” spell repeatedly
Use the "Detect Life" spell until you run out of Magicka. You can rest for a few hours until Magicka is fully charged before casting spells again.
Step 4. Get the Telekinesis spell to level up “Alteration” in another way
Telekinesis is another effective spell to increase the level of "Alteration". You can get it in several ways:
- You can buy the “Telekinesis” spell from Tolfdir and Wylandriah after the “Alteration” skill reaches level 40.
- You can get the "Telekinesis" spell in chests around the world.
Step 5. Use the “Telekinesis” spell to carry objects while exploring the world
Bring wooden barrels and other heavy objects after you clear the dungeon. After that, you can see the level of " Alteration " will increase rapidly.
Part 4 of 8: Leveling Up Magic “Restoration” Quickly
Step 1. Use basic healing spells
You can level up “Restoration” quickly and efficiently using basic healing spells. Start the game with these skills or use more advanced spells for faster recovery:
“Fast Healing” can be obtained after you reach “Restoration” level 25. You can buy it from Farengar in Dragonsreach or Colette Marence in Winterhold
Step 2. Get the “Equilibrium” spell
This spell deals 25 points of damage and restores 25 Magicka. You need to use it to injure and heal yourself. Spells can be obtained from the Labyrinthian Chasm.
Step 3. Cast the spell “Equilibrium” on yourself
In 25 seconds, you will get 25 points of damage. Be careful that you don't kill your own character!
Step 4. Cast the "Fast Heal" spell on yourself
Use the "Fast Heal" spell to restore health and increase the "Restoration" level.
Step 5. Repeat the process until you have successfully raised the “Restoration” level
You can repeat the process as long as you want, as long as you don't kill your own character. If you run out of Magicka, rest for a few hours before continuing the process.
Part 5 of 8: Leveling up Magic “Conjuring”
Step 1. Get the “Soul Trap” spell
You can buy this spell from Farengar in Dragonsreach or Phinis Gestor in Winterhold.
Step 2. Kill the wild animals
You don't need to kill enemies, just deer or other wild animals.
Step 3. Cast the “Soul Trap” spell at the animal carcass repeatedly
Every time you cast a spell, the magic level “Conjuring” will increase.
Step 4. Rest for an hour if you run out of Magicka
The Magicka level will be refilled and you can again use the "Soul Trap" spell.
Part 6 of 8: Raising Combat Skill Level Quickly
Step 1. Deal damage to increase “Light and Heavy Armor” skill
The quickest way to level up a weapon is to use one of the available weapons, then do some damage. The more damage the weapon “absorbs”, the higher the skill level it gets.
The safest way to do this is to let weak enemies like wolves attack you
Step 2. Use shield to increase “Block” level
The quickest way to level up the “Block” skill is to visit the giant's camp and fend off its attacks. Repeat the process until the “Block” skill reaches level 100 (takes about 30 minutes). Make sure you have enough healing potions and spells. This process also has an impact on the “Armor” skill.
Step 3. Increase the skill level of “Archery” by attacking your own horse
The best way to quickly upgrade your “Archery” skill is to complete the “Dark Brotherhood” quest series in order to receive Shadowmere, a special horse with quick health. Attack the horse with arrows and allow its health to recover to quickly level up the "Archery" skill.
Part 7 of 8: Raising “Thief” Skill Level Quickly
Step 1. Sneak into crowded areas
The fastest way to improve your “Sneak” skill is to mingle with lots of people. While some people will notice your actions, whoever you rob will improve those skills. Crawl as you move around Whiterun or other dense cities.
You can sneak up behind someone who isn't moving, like a shopkeeper. After that, move to the wall behind you. This process helps increase skill levels, without great effort
Step 2. Improve your pickpocketing skills by stealing small items
There are no tips or tricks that can improve your pickpocketing skills other than stealing as often as possible. Chances of getting caught are less if you steal small items like money.
Part 8 of 8: Raising “Smithing” Level Quickly
Step 1. Activate “Warrior's Stone” and rest overnight
Thus, you can get a sizable experience point bonus (experience point or XP) of up to 35%. You can find "Warrior's Stone" southwest of Riverwood.
Step 2. Buy/collect iron bars and leather pieces
Make the dagger repeatedly as this object requires the least amount of ingredients (1 iron bar, 1 piece of leather).
Step 3. Mine ore as you adventure
You can use these ores to make jewelry and level up. Keep jewelry that is found or received as a gift.
Step 4. Turn mineral ores into gold and silver ore using the “Transmute Mineral Ore” spell
With this spell, you can get a lot of materials to make jewelry. Get this spell at Halted Stream Camp.
Step 5. Sell jewelry to pay for practice
By making jewelry, you can increase the skill level of “Smithing”. You can also sell them for money and pay for forging drills. This practice is offered at a fairly affordable price up to level 50 and can be paid for using the profit from selling jewelry.
Step 6. Create the Dwarven stem
You can make them from metal scraps found in the ruins of Dwemer. Use Dwarven sticks to make more sophisticated “Dwarven Bows”. This manufacturing process will significantly increase the “Smithing” level.
Step 7. Upgrade your weapon sophistication to a higher level
After reaching the high “Smithing” level, the best way to keep the level up is to buy weapons from blacksmiths and upgrade them. You can use items like the “Necklace of Haggling” to resell weapons and profit from hard work. Keep upgrading weapons to raise “Smithing” skill to level 100.
