If you are taking illegal drugs, you may want to get them out of your system immediately – for example, to pass a urine test or to stop taking the drug completely. All types of drugs can be removed from the body in almost the same way: increasing fluid intake and healthy foods, getting rid of toxins with detox drinks, and exercising to convert toxins in drugs into sweat. Eliminating all the drug content from the body takes time. So it will take you at least a week to complete the process.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Hydrate the Body to Get Rid of Drugs
Step 1. Drink at least 2-3 liters of water every day
The best way to get rid of drugs from the body is to hydrate the body. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Within a few days, the water will dissolve the concentration of the drug in the body so that the content is lost with the urine.
- For drugs stored in body fat (such as cocaine or THC substances from marijuana), drinking lots of water does not have much effect.
- Adult men should drink a minimum of 3.7 liters of water daily, while adult women should drink a minimum of 2.7 liters daily.
- If you drink water to remove drugs from your system, increase your water intake by 0.47-0.71 liters per day.
Step 2. Drink tea or cranberry juice
All types of tea are good for the detoxification process, while cranberry juice will make you urinate more often. Drink 3-4 glasses of tea or juice every day during the detoxification process. You can drink green tea, black tea, white tea, jasmine tea, and various other types of tea. Tea is rich in antioxidants and electrolytes that can speed up metabolism.
- You can drink hot green tea in a bag or make iced tea if you want to drink it cold.
- If you drink hot green tea, pour 1.2 ml of lemon juice into the tea to add to its deliciousness.
Step 3. Do not drink alcohol during the detox process
Alcohol can bind the substance in cocaine and THC in marijuana so that it sticks to body fat. Substances stored in fat cells are very difficult to get rid of. Drinking alcohol – especially in large quantities – will only make things worse.
Alcohol can have a negative effect on the body and slow down the inhibition process, so you run the risk of taking more of the drug that was originally intended to be excreted from the body
Method 2 of 3: Getting Rid of Medicine through Sweat
Step 1. Do aerobic exercise to burn fat
Some drugs (especially cocaine and marijuana's THC content) can accumulate in body fat. So, reducing fat is the best way to reduce the content of drugs. One of the best ways to burn fat is by sweating, and aerobic exercise can make you sweat a lot. Burning fat and sweating will help you get rid of drug residue from your body. Aerobics and other sports that can be tried are:
- Cycling or hiking.
- Run or jog.
- Jump rope.
Step 2. Spend 20-30 minutes in the sauna every day to expel the medicine through sweat
Even though it doesn't involve physical activity, sitting in a steamy hot sauna is a great way to make your body sweat. This method will dissolve the drug in the body. Saunas can be found in various wellness centers and fitness centers, or near swimming pools. Other ways to make the body sweat and shed the medicine are:
- Take a hot yoga class.
- Sunbathe.
- Understand that sweating in a sauna removes only a small amount of the medicinal properties. Also, don't go to the sauna if you're new to medication. The heat in the sauna can be dangerous.
Step 3. Add 2 cups (400 grams) of Epsom salt to the bath water
When preparing water for bathing, put the salt in it. Bathe in salt water for at least 15-20 minutes. Salt will open the pores of the skin so that toxins can get out of the body. You can buy Epsom salt at a supermarket or health food store.
Epsom salt contains magnesium, which is important for helping the body flush out toxins (including chemical residues from drug use)
Method 3 of 3: Changing Your Diet to Speed Up Metabolism
Step 1. Reduce consumption of sugar and bad fats
Your body has a tough job to do, which is digesting narcotics and removing the toxins from the system. Sugars and bad fats – such as saturated fat and trans fat – are very difficult to digest and break down. If the food you eat is rich in sugar and bad fats, it will take your body longer to get rid of traces of the drug.
- The high content of sugar and bad fats is found in foods and beverages such as soda, candy, processed foods, and fast food.
- Processed foods also contain high levels of sodium which can increase water retention. Water retention will slow down the body's work in processing drugs.
Step 2. Eat vegetables and other foods that are high in fiber
Filling the body with healthy vegetables and natural foods will restore the lost supply of vitamins and minerals. As the condition of the body improves, the body will process and get rid of the rest of the drugs faster. Similarly, high-fiber foods will speed up the body's metabolism to get rid of drugs.
- While not the best way to pass a urine test (drink lots of water and detox drinks), it will help your body get rid of the rest of the drug, and keep it healthy in a few months.
- Some other high-fiber foods are oatmeal, lentils, black beans and lima beans, broccoli, and whole grains.
Step 3. Increase consumption of antioxidant-rich foods
Antioxidants will improve the body's general health, as well as help the process of removing toxins and chemicals that are left. Some foods that contain large amounts of antioxidants are:
- Various types of berries, including blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries.
- Leafy greens, such as kale, spinach, and lettuce.
Tips
- There is no specific time limit regarding the duration of drug content in the body. Each person has a different metabolic ability to drugs. The length of time a drug remains in the body depends on a variety of physical factors, such as the dose of the drug and your body's tolerance for the drug.
- Drugs can be detected in blood, urine, and hair. You can remove traces of the drug from the blood in the same way as removing traces of it in urine. Drugs can be detected in the sign within months. So, to pass the drug test, you should wash your hair as thoroughly as possible. To be on the safe side, you may have to shave your head.
- Generally, marijuana is the longest-lasting illicit drug in the body: the substance in it can be detected in urine for up to 30 days, and in the blood for up to 2 weeks.
- Drugs such as morphine and codeine last only a short time in the body: they are only detectable for 1-3 days in the urine or 6-12 hours in the blood.
- Cocaine can be detected in the urine for 3-4 days and 1-2 days in the blood.
- Heroin is generally detectable in the urine for 3-4 days and in the blood for 12 hours.
Warning
- Even if you want to get the drug out of your system quickly (for example, for a urine test), don't buy an obscure "detox drink" product. This kind of drink has been opposed by medical experts and does nothing to remove medicinal substances from the body.
- Various types of narcotics – especially natural and synthetic opium – are very harmful to the body, and can be life threatening. If you are addicted to such drugs, immediately take steps to eliminate dependence on drugs.
