Drinking lots of water is part of a healthy lifestyle, but after a long time it can feel boring. Using lemon juice and honey is an interesting way to add flavor and even add more benefits to water. What's more, honey lemon water is also very soothing to drink if you have a cold or cough. Make simple honey lemon water by adding the ingredients to boiling water. If you want to enjoy honey lemon water whenever you want, make a "flavored honey" by adding lemon flavor to the honey which you can mix with water later. If you want to make a more soothing drink to soothe a sore throat, add a bit of ginger to the lemon juice before mixing it with the water and honey.

For 1 serving
Step
Method 1 of 3: Making Classic Honey Lemon Water
Step 1. Squeeze the lemon
To make honey lemon water, you need 1 medium lemon. Cut the fruit in half with a knife, then use a squeezer to get about 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of lemon juice.
For this recipe, it's a good idea to use organic lemons
Step 2. Bring the water to a boil
Pour 250 ml of water into a small saucepan. Heat the water over high heat until it boils. This process takes about 5 minutes.
- You can also heat the water in the microwave if you prefer.
- If you don't want the water to boil, use warm water. For water with a more refreshing taste, use filtered water. Keep in mind that you may need to stir the mixture longer when adding the honey to allow the honey to dissolve.
Step 3. Put honey and lemon juice in hot water until the honey dissolves
Remove the pot from the heat once the water boils, then add the lemon juice and 2 tablespoons (15 grams) of honey. Stir the mixture so that the honey dissolves completely.
Step 4. Pour the mixture into the mug and enjoy
Once the honey has dissolved, carefully transfer the honey-lemon juice to a mug or cup. Before enjoying, it's a good idea to check the temperature of the water by dipping a spoon into the mixture. If the metal doesn't feel too hot, the water is ready to drink. If not, wait a few minutes for the water temperature to drop.
Method 2 of 3: Making a Ready-to-use Honey Lemon Water Mix
Step 1. Put the lemon wedges in the jar
To make a ready-to-use honey lemon water mixture, you will need a 500 ml jar with a lid and 2 thinly sliced lemons. Place the lemon wedge in the bottom of the jar.
You can add pieces of ginger on top of the lemon zest if you like
Step 2. Cover the lemon with honey
Once the lemon wedges are incorporated and set, pour about 2 tablespoons (45 grams) of honey over them. Make sure you cover as much of the lemon as possible.
If possible, use pure or local honey, which usually contains more antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties
Step 3. Repeat the process until all ingredients are used, then close the jar
Keep adding lemon and honey until the jar is full. Place the lid on the mouth of the jar and twist it tightly shut.
Step 4. Chill the jars in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours
By storing the mixture in the refrigerator, the lemon flavor can seep into the honey more strongly. The juice and acid from the lemon will mix with the honey so you can get the most out of it when the honey is added to the water.
Step 5. Add honey mixture to warm water and enjoy
After the mixture has cooled, open the lid of the jar and take 1-2 teaspoons (7-15 grams) of honey. Put in a mok containing 250 ml of warm or boiling water (depending on taste) and enjoy immediately.
You can store the remaining lemon honey mixture in the refrigerator for up to 2 months so you can enjoy the honey lemon water whenever you want
Method 3 of 3: Mixing Honey Lemon Water with Ginger
Step 1. Put the lemon wedges and ginger in the bowl
For the honey lemon water with ginger, you will need one sliced lemon and one 2 inch (2.5 cm) fresh piece of fresh ginger that has been peeled and thinly sliced. Put the pieces of material into your favorite mockup.
You can add as much lemon and ginger to the mug as you like
Step 2. Pour boiling water
After the lemon and ginger slices are added, pour 250 ml of boiling water. Stir briefly to mix the ingredients.
You can boil water using the stove or microwave
Step 3. Add honey and enjoy the drink
Add 1 teaspoon (7 grams) of pure or local honey to the mixture, then stir until dissolved. You can let the mixture sit for a while to give it an even flavor, but it's a good idea to drain the water while it's still warm.
