Frozen grapes are a delicious, low-calorie, low-fat snack that even ice cream lovers can gorge on. Frozen grapes are perfect for kids (as well as adults) to enjoy on hot summer days, and are very easy to prepare and “make”. If you want to make your own frozen grapes in no time, go to Step 1 below to get started.
Step
Step 1. Wash the grapes
Washing any fruit before you eat it is a good thing to do. Washing fruit helps remove pesticides that are harmful to your health. Once drained, place the grapes in a colander or bowl or plate and pat them dry with paper towels. Allow at least 15 minutes for the wine to dry as much as possible.
Step 2. Place the grapes on a sheet of parchment paper, a baking sheet, or a plate
You can also use Tupperware or other resealable containers. Keep the grapes as spaced as possible so they don't touch each other. This way the grapes won't stick together or clump when frozen. Even after the grapes have been drained and dried, excess water can turn the grapes into large fruit blobs due to the adhering ice.
- If you want your wine to be sweeter, you can sprinkle it with a little sugar or a low-calorie sweetener before placing it in the freezer.
- If you want to be a little creative, you can make "frozen grape skewers" by pricking the grapes on a skewer before placing them in the refrigerator.
Step 3. Freeze the grapes for at least 4-5 hours in the freezer
The more grapes you have, the longer it will take to freeze completely. You can also freeze the grapes overnight, but you don't want to freeze them for too long or the grapes may lose their delicious texture and taste.
Step 4. Remove the wine from the freezer
Remove the frozen grapes and place in a bowl. Get ready to enjoy your snack.
Step 5. Enjoy your wine
Take your wine out of the freezer and enjoy your frozen grapes just like that. If you prefer, there are also different ways to vary the way you enjoy your regular frozen wine:
- Use frozen grapes as ice cubes for a refreshing glass of water, mimosa, or other alcoholic beverage.
- Add frozen grapes to ice cream, yogurt, or pudding to add deliciousness and variety to your treats.
- Sprinkling frozen grapes with sugar makes for a sweeter snack.
Tips
- Use frozen grapes to chill your glass of wine or wine without adding water to it (ice = water)!
- Red grapes have more nutritional benefits and freeze better than green grapes, although some people prefer to freeze green ones as well. Try both.
- Pass the parchment paper (let's go green) and the baking sheet. Just shake or shake the wine well to make it almost dry and place it in a plastic ziplock bag. Lay the plastic flat in the freezer so the grapes don't pile up and are only 1-2 grapes thick. Wine would be fine frozen like this. The nutritional value of grapes will decrease after a week of freezing and will not last up to a week!
- If you want to make Italian ice from grapes, simply puree a bowl of grapes and freeze them for a few hours.
- Wash the grapes and place them on paper towels. Let it air dry for about a day. Then pick the grapes from the stems, and put them in a plastic ziplock bag.
- After draining the grapes, wrap about 6-7 grapes in plastic wrap (do this until all the grapes are completely wrapped). Then place the wrapped grapes in a plastic ziplock bag for freezing. The results are great!
- Try freezing red and green grapes, then mixing them together in a plastic bag. It can be a delicious snack, as well as healthy.
- Wash the grapes, put them in a Ziploc plastic bag, and store them until you're ready to use them. After that put the wine in a bowl and enjoy.
- Try placing all of the wine in a 1-gallon freezer-safe plastic bag, and freeze it that way for months. The grapes do not stick together and will also last for months.
