A haunted house is a great place to scare loved ones on special occasions so they can jump into your arms. But of course the house is not a pleasant place to live. There are a few tips to follow to make sure nothing spooky is going on in your dream home.
Step
Step 1. Determine if any metaphysical phenomena or events do indicate that your house is haunted
Actually, there are different levels in the phenomenon of ghost emergence because every occurrence or phenomenon is not the same. There may be one or more different phenomena occurring where you live.
Step 2. Notice if anything seems unusual
-
When alone at home, listen for other sounds that may be heard. You may be able to hear the voices from a distance. Some of the sounds that may be heard in the house stop, among them, are the sound of footsteps, knocking on the door, door slamming, banging or hitting on furniture, scratching / scratching, or the sound of objects falling. These voices can be heard, either in a low volume or very loud.
- Pay attention to whether you have seen the doors in the house open or closed when you were sure that the previous position was not like that. Also, look for electrical items that turn on or off unexpectedly. You may not see these phenomena happening in person.
-
Watch for items that disappear and reappear. Keep an eye on a spot with an object that is always there (eg a vase or small decoration). If the object disappears, be careful. Usually, these items will be found in the same places within a day to several weeks. This phenomenon may seem like someone took the item, then returned it to its original place.
- Watch for any suspicious shadows. You may see certain apparitions or shadows. The shadows that appear may resemble a human figure, but sometimes they appear smaller and more difficult to distinguish from the shadows of other objects.
-
Notice if you feel like you're being watched or touched by someone or something you can't see. For example, maybe something touches your arm while you are standing in an empty room at home. In extreme (and very rare) events, a person can be slapped or punched by something unseen.
- Hear faint cries or whispers. You may hear music from somewhere in the house or the sound of an unseen creature calling your name.
-
Pay attention to whether there are things that move by themselves. For example, maybe the dinner plate on the table moved by itself, a painting on the wall suddenly fell, or furniture suddenly shifted.
- Pay attention to points or areas that feel cold because some people believe that in areas / rooms that feel cold there are ghosts.
-
Also pay attention to unusual odors (eg perfume, smoke, flowers, food) that appear from unknown places or suddenly.
Step 3. Try to find a rational reason for the phenomenon that occurs
You may find it difficult to ignore some of the more extreme phenomena. However, such a phenomenon will usually be taken seriously if there is more than one person experiencing it.
Step 4. Get help proving that your house isn't haunted
Plumbers may be able to explain the loud noises coming from inside the plumbing. A carpenter may be able to repair a swaying table or a door that closes on its own. In addition, your family members and friends may also be able to explain why you have heard or seen the “phenomenon” that you have been experiencing.
Step 5. Always have a journal and a tape recorder ready
Write down the date, time, and phenomena that occur when unusual things happen. If you often hear strange noises, it's a good idea to record what you hear using a recorder to store evidence. This way, you can help paranormal investigators if you ask them to come over to your house.
Step 6. Do some house history research
Haunted houses are usually the scene of some kind of historical tragedy. Find out who the previous owner of the house was, and whether strange things have happened in the house before. Your librarian, town hall information service, historians group, and even a history teacher in your city may be able to help.
-
Contact people who have previously lived in your home. Ask if he has experienced anything unusual, strange, or inexplicable while living in your home. If several families have lived in the house before, make sure you contact as many families as possible.
Step 7. Contact a paranormal investigator
Have them visit your home, and ask if they notice anything unusual. Make sure you only contact them after you are sure that your house is indeed haunted. If you feel that your family is in danger by any of these phenomena, do not hesitate to contact them as soon as possible.
Step 8. Follow the investigator's guidance
If your house turns out to be haunted, listen to what other people have to say. If you're not happy with the haunted state of the house, try sprinkling holy water (or do other things that investigators suggest) on the most haunted places.
Tips
- Don't provoke "them". Existing paranormal activities may continue or even worsen.
- Keep in mind that having noise (eg television sound) from one or more rooms and moving around a lot when you are alone at home will make your home feel more secure.
- Install hidden cameras at night or when someone is alone at home to see if someone in your family is playing tricks on you.
- Don't make existing ghosts feel threatened.
- If something strange happens, pay attention to your surroundings.
- Make sure you know exactly what's going on before making a big choice (eg moving house).
- Make sure you don't do things that make it appear as if there is a ghost in your house, such as leaving windows open, placing objects on the edge of a table, or assuming the shiny parts of objects look like certain figures. Make sure you're not too scared either.
- Don't panic if it turns out that your house is inhabited by spirits. So far, there is not much evidence to suggest that these spirits can (or will) harm anyone.
- If you live in an apartment, you may be able to hear noises from nearby rooms.
- In Connecticut, United States, if you want to buy a notoriously haunted house, the real estate agent needs to tell you about it (and this is the law). Therefore, make sure you ask the agent about it. The same law applies in several other states in the United States. Although in Indonesia such laws may not yet apply, you can still ask a real estate agent about this.
- Don't decide to move house right away, unless everything else you've followed doesn't work. In fact, with a little effort, you can live side by side with “them”.
- If you believe that a spirit is inhabiting your home, try politely asking the spirit to leave your home.
- Remember that sometimes the spirits that stay are good spirits so you don't need to be afraid. You can politely ask "them" to leave or contact a psychic to get in touch with the spirits.
Warning
- If you're inexperienced, don't try to investigate a haunted house alone. Always contact someone who is an expert in this area to help you.
- Make sure the person who is an expert in the paranormal field has clear goals and can be trusted.
- Sometimes, natural phenomena occur and give the impression that the house they live in is "haunted". Make sure you do a thorough investigation before taking any drastic steps (eg moving house).
- Find out whether the creatures are good or evil. Also make sure you know that the creature you want to interact with is the right one.
- If you start to hear a hissing sound or feel scratching on your body, there is a possibility that a demon or evil creature has entered your body. The best way to get it out of the body or unharmed is to move house, or buy a new house.
