The look of thick eyebrows is in vogue right now. However, you can't get it overnight. If you shave frequently, your eyebrows may be thin. Luckily, you can grow beautiful eyebrows in no time! With a little patience, using the right products, and a little effort, you can stimulate the hair follicles of your eyebrows and make them grow back quickly. For best results, you may use more than one method at the same time.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Coating Eyebrows Overnight
Step 1. Decide on the product you want to use
You should lock the moisture in your eyebrows during your sleep at night to speed up their growth. There are many products that can help you with this, some of which may even be readily available at home. Some good product choices, including:
- Castor oil. This oil contains proteins that stimulate hair growth, but may irritate the skin.
- Olive oil or coconut oil. Both types of oil can lock in moisture, thereby stimulating hair growth. This oil is natural and inexpensive.
- Petroleum jelly. Petroleum jelly will help lock in moisture. However, avoid using petroleum jelly if you have oily or acne-prone skin. Otherwise, your skin may get breakouts.
- Eyebrow growth serum. This growth serum contains vitamins and peptides that can promote eyebrow growth. This serum is very useful, but the price can reach between IDR 300,000-IDR 1,000,000 per bottle.
Step 2. Test the product on the skin
Before using it on your eyebrows and leaving it overnight while you sleep, it's best to test the product on a hidden area of the skin first. Apply a small amount of product on the back of the wrist or the side of the neck. Wait for 4-6 hours. Observe if your skin is red, irritated, or has a rash. If there are any of these signs, stop using the product.
- It's a good idea to test the products one by one so you don't get confused.
- Growth serum, castor oil, and petroleum jelly are more irritating than oil or coconut oil. However, you may be allergic to one of them.
Step 3. Wash your face before going to bed
Cleanse your skin at night, especially the area around the eyebrows. Wash your face with cold water and make sure that there are no residues of the cleansing product on your face.
- Use whatever facial cleanser you normally use.
- Don't forget to exfoliate your skin several times a week after cleansing.
Step 4. Apply the product on the eyebrows
If you are using a growth serum, use the applicator provided to apply it. If you're using another product (like castor oil, coconut oil, olive oil, or petroleum jelly), rub it between your fingers to warm it up first, then rub it over your eyebrows.
- Massage can help stimulate eyebrow growth. So, take 1 or 2 minutes to massage the product until it is absorbed.
- If you don't want to use your hands, you can use a cotton ball to apply the product.
- Keep the product away from the eye area. If product gets into eyes, rinse with water.
Step 5. Wash your face again in the morning
When you wake up, clean your entire face. Be sure to remove all product from the eyebrows. Wash your eyebrows and entire face with cold water.
Method 2 of 2: Stimulate Eyebrow Growth
Step 1. Do not shave your eyebrows for at least 12 weeks
The time it takes the eyebrows to grow completely can reach 1 year. However, the first months are the hardest. For that, leave the eyebrows for 12 weeks. Do not pluck, shave, or use wax to style it during this time.
- Use an eyebrow pencil and/or powder to fill in the gaps in your eyebrows as they grow.
- Dab concealer around the eyebrows to disguise the short hair.
Step 2. Use a spoolie brush to comb the eyebrows daily
Combing your eyebrows will help stimulate their growth. Purchase a spoolie brush from your local beauty shop and use it to gently brush your eyebrows every day. This brush will also help to style messy brows.
Step 3. Exfoliate the eyebrow area 3 times a week
Exfoliating the eyebrow area will also stimulate the follicles and stimulate their growth. Buy or make your own facial scrub. After cleansing your face, apply the scrub you like to your eyebrows and the skin around them. Rub in a circular motion then rinse thoroughly.
Make sure all the product is lifted from the eyebrows
Step 4. Eat foods that stimulate hair growth
Foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins E and A, and lactic acid are beneficial for hair growth. So, try to include more foods that contain these vitamins and acids in your diet.
- Salmon, walnuts, Brussels sprouts, spinach, and kale all contain omega-3 fatty acids.
- Carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, and spinach are all rich in vitamin A.
- Almonds, avocados, tomatoes, olives, and broccoli are all rich in vitamin E.
Step 5. Eat foods rich in biotin
A B vitamin called biotin is great for helping hair growth. Eat foods rich in biotin and/or consider starting a biotin supplement. Adults should consume 25-30 micrograms of biotin daily. Some foods rich in biotin include:
- Eggs - 8 micrograms/egg
- Yogurt - 4 micrograms/240 ml
- Salmon - 4-5 micrograms/100 grams
- Almonds - 14 micrograms/60 ml
Step 6. Exercise every day to improve blood circulation
Exercising every day will pump blood flow and improve blood circulation in the body, and this can help accelerate hair growth. Exercising every day can also help channel the hair's natural oils, stimulating new hair growth and making it healthier.
Step 7. Manage stress
Stress can cause all sorts of side effects for the body, including slowing hair growth. If you are experiencing stress, try to take steps to reduce it. If your stress is severe, consider consulting a psychologist. There are several ways to manage stress, including:
- Meditation
- Yoga
- Massage
- Write a diary
- Share stories with friends
- Strolling
Step 8. Visit a doctor
Hormonal disorders, allergies, and other health problems can slow hair growth and even cause hair loss. In addition, certain medications can also cause side effects on the hair. If you experience this, see a doctor to be sure.
