The skin-tanning lotion has undergone refinement since it was first introduced to the market and is known to leave an orange streak on the skin. However, improper selection of color levels and errors in application still occasionally cause problems in darkening with skin-tanning lotions. Although streaks and uneven discoloration will disappear within a few weeks after the outer layer of skin has peeled off, some people who have self-tanned may not be able to stand waiting for the results of the unsuccessful darkening to go away on its own. There's no way to get rid of darkening immediately and completely, but some beauticians recommend some tips to get your skin back to its original color as quickly as possible.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Overcoming Minor Flaws
Step 1. If your darkening is even but too dark or orange in color, the removal method will be slightly different than removing the streak
We'll cover that in the next section if darkening has made you look less "wow" and more like a pumpkin. For now let's concentrate on these blotches and smudging first.
Step 2. Use lemons
It is said that lemon can remove freckles on the skin, right? If he can get rid of the "permanent" marks on your skin, he can certainly get rid of temporary darkening. Lemons are great for treating irregular streaks on the palms of your hands or other places on your body that you care deeply about. There are two ways to use lemons:
- Mix a few tablespoons of lemon juice with baking soda to form a paste. Apply a thick layer over the problem area, let it sit for a few minutes, and wash off while gently scrubbing.
- Cut a lemon in half and rub one part on the problem area. If the problem is really bad, you probably didn't do it once enough, but you should see it improve almost instantly.
Step 3. Try a whitening toothpaste for small, uneven patches
Tiny cracks between your fingers? Nightmares in darkening the skin. To reach those annoying little nooks and crannies, use a whitening toothpaste. This toothpaste has whitening properties like other whitening products, acting on both teeth and skin.
It is especially effective for small and hard to reach areas. Put a small amount on your finger and massage it on the problem area. Rub, then see the results. Repeat if necessary
Step 4. Use acetone or alcohol
By the way, acetone is known as a nail polish remover. Take a cotton swab, moisten it with acetone or alcohol, and rub it on the desired area. Don't use this method too often; Acetone or alcohol are too harsh on your skin when used in excess.
If you choose this method, make sure you apply a moisturizer afterwards. Your body craves rehydration after exposure to acetone or alcohol
Part 2 of 2: Coping With Overall Color
Step 1. Soak in hot soapy water
Choose a time when you can freely soak for at least an hour. The more recently you use the darker, the better; it will be a little difficult to remove it if it is completely absorbed. Consider this an excuse to enjoy an hour of private time!
This section is completely optional. A longer soak will "tame" the darkening on your skin, but exfoliants and toners can do that too
Step 2. Exfoliate with a sugar scrub
If you don't have one, you can make your own! The sugar granules lift the outermost layer of your skin, and it helps reduce the bad color on your skin significantly, as well as making your skin silky smooth!
- Use scrubbing gloves to speed up and increase the effectiveness of exfoliation. Scrub stones are usually too harsh on the skin, so it's best to only use scrubbing gloves or a loofah.
- Then, if you wish, apply a gradual darkening, i.e. a darker that will show results slowly. This can help even out any remaining color from the previous darkening.
Step 3. Coat your body with baby oil to reduce the overall darkening of the color
The longer you leave baby oil on your body the better, but leave it on for at least 10 minutes. Leave it on for 30 minutes if you don't get tired of leaving it standing! This method is especially good if you get a darkening that is too dark or too orange, as it will completely reduce the difference between your natural skin tone and the color of the darkening.
Step 4. Apply toner on face, neck, hands and feet before going to bed
Those parts are your priority, considering they are not easy to hide with clothes. The parts are also resistant to toner and are not easily irritated by it.
If you have a toner with alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), use them. These acids tend to be very effective for treating uneven skin tone
Step 5. Use a tan remover
Yes, such a product exists and costs around Rp. 200,000.00. It is in the form of a cushion or cream and is quite easy to use.
This product is effective, but not necessarily better than what you have in your bathroom/kitchen. Buy only if you have to
Step 6. Check your skin tone when you wake up the next morning
You should see a significant improvement. However, if you still find streaks and uneven skin tone, continue with a shower, a baking soda and lemon scrub, and a toner. There is no such permanent darkening of the skin; You just need persistence!
Tips
- Some salons may sell over-the-counter tanner products. They are often expensive, and there is no clear research showing their advantages over home-made solutions. But you can try it if you feel the need.
- Exfoliating with your favorite body scrub before applying the darkener will prepare the skin and give it an even, smudging result. Some scrubs are sold specifically for treatment before darkening the skin.
Warning
Never use harsh chemicals that are not intended for topical use. This includes hydrogen peroxide, bleach, and stain remover for clothes
