Cleaning your back regularly will keep your skin healthy. Try to get into the habit of cleaning your back every day when you take a shower to keep your back smooth and moist, and free from acne
Step
Method 1 of 3: Cleaning Your Back in the Shower
Step 1. Take a warm shower instead of hot water
Hot water can dry out the skin and strip it of its natural oils. A warm bath will help restore moisture to your back.
Step 2. Pour liquid bath soap on the loofah and rub the upper back
Hold the loofah with your left hand and reach over your right shoulder to rub your upper back. Then, grab the loofah with your right hand and reach over your left shoulder to rub the other upper back.
If you have trouble reaching your upper back, attach a loofah to the stick to make it easier
Step 3. Rub your lower back with a loofah
Hold the loofah in your right hand and reach behind your body to rub your lower back.
Try using a loofah on the stick if it doesn't reach your lower back
Step 4. Rinse the back
Make sure you rinse all the soap off your back so it doesn't dry out your skin.
Step 5. Moisturize your back
Dry your body with a towel first. Then, apply body lotion to the upper and lower back. Moisturize your back immediately after showering to prevent it from drying out and flaking.
Method 2 of 3: Exfoliate Back
Step 1. Scrub your back with a natural bristle body brush before taking a shower
The brush will exfoliate the dead skin from the back. Reach your back and scrub with the brush in circular motions all over the skin.
Step 2. Exfoliate your back with a scrub while showering
Scrub contains tiny particles like salt and sugar that help exfoliate the skin and get rid of dead skin cells. Exfoliating your back will prevent clogged pores. Use a loofah to gently rub the scrub on your back when you shower.
Step 3. Use a back exfoliating towel if you can't reach your back
This back exfoliating towel is a long, narrow towel that is slightly abrasive and designed to make exfoliating your back easier. Hold each end of the towel with one hand and bring it to your back through your head. Then, move your hands sideways so that the towel rubs against your back.
Step 4. Exfoliate your back daily while showering
Daily exfoliation will keep your back smooth and prevent clogged pores. Gently exfoliate the back so it doesn't irritate the skin.
Method 3 of 3: Get Rid of Back Acne
Step 1. Use a body wash that contains salicylic acid to help exfoliate your back
Salicylic acid helps treat back acne by exfoliating the skin and opening up clogged pores. Look at the ingredients of a bath soap to find one that contains salicylic acid. Use this soap to clean your back while bathing.
Step 2. Apply benzoyl peroxide on your back before going to bed at night
Benzoyl peroxide is an over-the-counter acne medication that comes in creams or lotions. Benzoyl peroxide helps reduce acne by killing the bacteria that cause it. Rub benzoyl peroxide lotion or cream on your back every night before going to bed.
- Benzoyl peroxide can bleach fabrics. So, wear an old t-shirt that can get dirty after wearing it at night
- It can take up to 4 weeks before the drug shows results.
Step 3. Shower after exercise
Exercising makes the body sweat, which can lead to breakouts. Take a shower immediately after intense exercise, and clean your back to get rid of sweat and prevent acne formation.
