Want to watch a concert of your favorite musician from the front row closest to the stage? Who said that wish could not be realized? In fact, you just need to equip yourself with a mature intention and plan. If the organizer sells tickets in several categories, make every effort to buy tickets in the most premium category. If your budget can only be used to buy the cheapest general admission tickets, it means you have to fight harder to get through the crowd to get to the front row. Don't be afraid to try and have fun!
Step
Part 1 of 3: Making a Plan
Step 1. Immediately buy tickets for the front row when the ticket sales process opens
If the venue for the concert or the musicians who will be performing has a mailing list, try signing up for it. Generally, they will offer a limited number of pre-sale tickets and can increase your chances of finding the ideal viewing spot. If your budget is sufficient, there's nothing wrong with buying a VIP ticket which generally allows you to watch the concert from a premium location. In order not to miss the ticket sales process, don't forget to set an alarm and don't be late to access the sales site! The sooner you log in, the more varied your viewing options will be.
- If the organizers don't sell special tickets to sit or stand in the front row, try taking the risk of waiting until the concert time is getting closer to buying tickets. In fact, some organizers sell more premium tickets just before the entrance opens! Generally, the ticket was originally ordered by the management or organizer, but in the end it was not used.
- Sometimes, you can even find premium tickets on sale on sites like CragisList. However, generally new tickets will be transferred shortly before the concert starts, and of course your risk of being scammed increases by purchasing tickets from an untrusted third party.
Step 2. Arrive just as the entrance opens if you have a general admission ticket
Sometimes, new doors will open an hour before the concert starts, sometimes even earlier than that. To ensure you manage to get to the front row when you watch, get to the concert venue as early as possible. That way, you can secure the front row before other spectators arrive, and it's easier to get to the front row without having to push your way through the crowd.
- Sometimes, you have to take the extra step by staying at the concert venue the night before! In fact, this step is common for many spectators who decide to camp overnight in order to get the ideal location when watching a concert. Want some tips for camping overnight? Read this article!
- Arriving much earlier or staying at the concert location will be fun if you do it with other people, you know! After all, you can make it a weekend activity with your closest friends, right?
Step 3. Bring the right equipment
If the concert is taking place outdoors, you're more likely to be able to claim a viewing location by laying out a mat or placing a park bench there. To increase your viewing comfort, don't forget to bring sunscreen cream and a water bottle (if allowed). However, if the concert takes place indoors and the audience is only allowed to stand, make sure you wear comfortable shoes so you don't hurt your feet while watching. If possible, find out details regarding the location of the concert in advance, so you know what equipment you need and can bring.
- It's also important to know where the concert is going to be to make sure you're wearing the right clothes. If the concert is being held in a small, cramped bar, don't wear clothes that are too thick to avoid overheating. If the concert is held in an open space, you should bring a jacket so that the body does not get cold when the sun begins to set.
- Another "equipment" that you should bring is a phone with a maximum battery power. Before the concert, charge the battery fully to keep your phone on until the concert ends. Remember, your cell phone is a very useful tool if you need to be separated from your friends!
Step 4. Reduce fluid intake, at least a few hours before the concert starts
In fact, you probably won't be able to maintain your ideal position if you have to go to the toilet in the middle of a concert! Remember, you will not be able to bribe other viewers with money to return to the ideal location. Instead, you're more likely to have to wait in line at the entrance for an indefinite amount of time. To avoid these possibilities, try to reduce your fluid intake at least a few hours before the concert starts.
Sometimes, you just can't stop yourself from going to the toilet. If that's the case, don't hesitate to do it! If you don't come alone, ask your friends to help you maintain your standing position, and vice versa
Part 2 of 3: Reaching Where You Want
Step 1. Choose the path of least resistance
Instead of pushing your way through the crowd from the very back, try approaching the stage by walking along the perimeter (the outermost line of the building or location). Once you're as close to the stage as possible, try to push your way through the crowd by walking sideways.
Generally, other people will be more willing if you move from the side, rather than from behind them. Psychologically, you'll think you haven't got a place and are looking for a new place, instead of breaking through queues or crowds
Step 2. Take your friend's hand
This step should especially be done in a crowded concert venue to avoid the risk of being separated from the people coming with you. After all, it will make it easier for you to move through the crowd and reach the ideal place together, right?
If the audience is more aggressive, the chances of getting separated from your friends will always be there. In this situation, make sure that you and your friends are holding cell phones so they can easily contact each other. To avoid problems if there is no network signal within the concert venue, from the outset try to determine a specific meet up location if such a situation occurs
Step 3. Be firm but polite
These two attitudes are a must have for anyone standing in the front row at a concert! In other words, you need to push the other audience a bit to get to the ideal spot, but still have to say “excuse me” and “thank you”. Trust me, other people will find it easier to work with you if you are treated with kindness and courtesy.
- If there are viewers who still don't care even if you say "excuse me," there's nothing wrong with being a little more presumptuous.
- Don't be shy to say sorry and keep moving until you reach the ideal spot. After all, you will most likely never see these people again; and the experience of watching your dream musician up close doesn't come twice, does it?
Part 3 of 3: Maintaining Position
Step 1. Sacrifice the beer
Trust me, you won't be able to hold on to your position if you leave it in search of food or drink. Even if you ask someone else (like your friend) to buy a drink, chances are high that the vacant position will soon be taken by another, larger crowd. As a result, you must be ready to stand apart from your friends. Therefore, sacrifice beer or other beverages, if possible, to ensure that you are in a good position.
- If the concert venue is less crowded, smaller in size, and easier for you to move in any direction, feel free to ignore the suggestions above.
- Some spectators still forced themselves to bring drinks into the concert venue. If you wish to do so, and if the drinks you brought are not confiscated at the entrance, try doing so to save costs and maintain a viewing position.
Step 2. Stand straight
If you seem uncomfortable and insecure, other viewers will not hesitate to push your body to get where they want. Therefore, stand firm and confident to claim your position. Pull your shoulders back, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, and lift your head up. Give the impression that you really deserve to rule the place!
If other viewers are still trying to push or take your place even though you've applied these methods, don't hesitate to “kick out” them. Express your objections by looking them in the eye, then asking them to back off
Step 3. Dance, sing and have fun
If you manage to get to the front row, show that you really deserve to be there! If you just stand with a reluctant look with your arms crossed over your chest, other spectators with more enthusiasm will be motivated to invade your place. So, dance, sing, and have as much fun as you can with the rest of the audience! After all, how can you remain silent when you have got the most "exciting" position?
