If you have files you want to send from your phone to your PC (or vice versa), but don't have a USB cable or other wired connection, you can use Bluetooth to transfer data. Bluetooth is another medium that can be used to transmit data wirelessly. The downside is that Bluetooth has such a short range that the two devices need to be close to each other when you want to connect them via Bluetooth.

Method 1 of 2: Connecting Windows Computer to Bluetooth
Step 1. Turn on Bluetooth on the mobile device
You can find the Bluetooth activation button in the device settings menu (“Settings”).
In order for the computer to find your device, make sure the "Discoverable" option is enabled on the mobile device
Step 2. Open the “Start” menu on the PC and click on “Control Panel”
This option is on the right side of the menu, above the “Devices and Printers” option.
Step 3. Locate and click on the “Add device” option
This option is under the “Hardware and Sound” section, on the right side of the Control Panel window.
Step 4. Look for another device
After clicking “Add device”, a new window will be displayed. This window contains the “Add a device” tutorial or wizard. Automatically, the computer will search for other devices with Bluetooth enabled.
Make sure the device you want to connect is not in sleep mode (“Sleep mode”)
Step 5. Pair the computer with the mobile device
Once the device name is displayed in the menu, click the name and click the “Next” button in the lower right corner of the window to begin the PC and mobile pairing process.
Method 2 of 2: Connecting a MacOS Computer to Bluetooth
Step 1. Turn on Bluetooth on the mobile device
You can find the Bluetooth activation button in the device settings menu (“Settings”).
In order for the computer to find your device, make sure the "Discoverable" option is enabled on the mobile device
Step 2. Open Bluetooth settings on the menu bar
Select “Open Bluetooth preferences” from the Bluetooth menu displayed in the menu bar, then follow the on-screen instructions to select the type of device you want to pair with.
If the Bluetooth status menu is not displayed in the menu bar, click the “Apple” menu > “System Preferences”, click “Bluetooth”, and select “Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar”
Step 3. Pair the computer with the mobile device
Browse the list of detected devices, and select the device you want to connect.
- Follow the steps shown on the screen to pair your computer with a mobile device.
- You only need to pair your computer with the device once.
- The device will remain plugged in until you disconnect or remove the connection.
