Need a break while playing Red Dead Redemption, or want to save some data before a fierce battle? You can save your data in several locations in the Red Dead Redemption area. Although the game will save data automatically, saving manually can speed up time in the game and can create a permanent storage area so you can return to wherever you want. You can store them in safe houses or use a campsite.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Using Safe House
Step 1. Find the nearest safe house
Safe houses can be identified from the icon in the shape of a house on the map. The blue house icon indicates a safe house that hasn't been bought or rented out yet. The green house icon indicates a safe house that has been purchased or can be rented out.
Step 2. Tie up your horse
If you're traveling by horse, you can ensure that your horse won't be traveling alone while you sleep by tying it to a harness in front of the safe house. Not all safe houses have horse ties.
Step 3. Approach the mattress
Enter the safe house and approach the bed. You can only use a mattress if you have purchased or can rent out a safe house.
Step 4. Press the Save button
When standing next to the bed, a message will appear informing you that you can save your game data. Press Triangle (PS3) or Y (Xbox 360) to start the save process. Then Marston would lie down on the bed.
Step 5. Choose to save
When you lie down, time will accelerate by 6 hours. You can choose to save, or you can cancel it. This is very useful to speed up the time in the game without having to go through the process when saving data.
Step 6. Select the file to save
When you choose to save, you will be asked to select a file to save. You want to stack the old data, or create a new file.
Method 2 of 2: Using Campsite
Step 1. Locate the open area
To be able to set up a campsite, you need a flat, open area that is not in a city area, village, or hiding place. If you try to set up a campsite in an area that doesn't qualify, you'll get a message to set up somewhere else
Step 2. Open your bag
You can set up a standard campsite without having to buy one. You can find it by pressing the Select (PS3) or Back (Xbox 360) button.
Step 3. Select "Kits"
This is your equipment. Your standard campsite will be on the list. You can buy a better Campsite, then you can keep it together with other versions of the Campsite. Choose a campsite from the list so you can set it up.
You also visit other character camps that have also been established. However these will appear randomly from the game. You cannot store data in this camp
Step 4. Save your game data
When you set up a campite, you will automatically crouch to set up a campsite. You can start building it by pressing Triangle (PS3) or Y (Xbox 360). Then Marston would start lying in it.
