Do you like playing Minecraft? Are you tired of hunting and gathering food? This wikiHow teaches you how to create a farm in Minecraft.
Step
Step 1. Determine the size of the garden
You can make plantation land large or small. 26x24 is the recommended garden size for most players.
Remember, large gardens require more supplies
Step 2. Select the land to be used as a garden
This is the area that you choose to make plantation land.
- Although not mandatory, choose flat land whenever possible.
-
There are many areas suitable for plantation land. Below are some examples.
- Underground. Building plantations underground is a fairly versatile option. However, this option will take quite a bit of time.
- On the vacant lot. Plantations built on vacant land are very easy to set up and do not require special tools. However, Mob can easily damage the garden.
- In the room. You can create buildings that are devoted to gardening. This building must have a glass roof so that the plants can be exposed to sunlight. You may have to spend some time creating these buildings, but this option can protect your garden from Mobs.
- If you can't do step 6, make a plantation near the lake. This is done so that you can dig a canal that will connect the garden to the lake. If you want to do this, the number of blocks that can be used in the canal will be quite limited. However, this method can be used as an alternative if you don't have a bucket.
Step 3. Build a perimeter around the garden
This can keep monsters away from your garden.
Remember: Build the perimeter at least 2 blocks high, or use a fence. If the perimeter is not too high, Mob can still jump over it
Step 4. Light up the garden with a torch
By doing this, Mobs don't appear in your garden.
You can also place glowstone under canals and under fences
Step 5. Dig a water canal
This water channel serves to water the plants in the garden.
Remember, water from the canal can only water 4 blocks of plants. Therefore, prepare 8 blocks between the water canals
Step 6. Fill the canal with water
Use a bucket to fetch water.
If you can't do this step, make a plantation near the lake. This is done so that you can dig a canal that will connect the garden to the lake. If you want to do this, the number of blocks that can be used in the canal will be quite limited. However, this method can be used as an alternative if you don't have a bucket
Step 7. Plow the soil with a hoe
Plants can only grow on plowed land.
Step 8. Start planting
Grasp the plant seeds, then right-click on the plowed soil.
Step 9. Let the plant grow
Use bone meal to speed up the plant growth process.
Step 10. Harvest the fruiting plants
Step 11. Replant the harvested crop
Harvesting plants will produce new seeds
Step 12. Congratulations, you now have a farm in Minecraft
Tips
- Destroy tall or short grass to get seeds.
- Water can wet 4 blocks of plowed soil.
- Experiment so that the results are the way you want them to be.
-
Apart from wheat, you can also grow other crops. You can also breed:
- Melon and pumpkin. Melons are a good source of food, but you will need to prepare some space around the stems for the melons to grow.
- Carrots and potatoes. Both of these plants are good sources of food.
- Livestock. Breeding farm animals is an easy and effective option for obtaining food.
- Sugarcane. Sugarcane can be used to make books (when combined with paper and leather) and cakes (3 buckets of milk, 2 sugar, 3 wheat and 1 egg). Sugarcane needs water blocks nearby in order to grow. Sugarcane cannot be planted on plowed land. (Cane can grow on sand, soil, or grass)
