The Three Regis consist of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. The three legendary Golems can make the later stages of the game easier because you can get all three before facing the Elite Four. The journey to get the three regis will take quite a bit of time and you'll have to explore the Hoenn region in the process.
Step
Part 1 of 7: Preparing Things to Open Access to the Three Regis
Step 1. Bring a Pokémon that has the Dig, Surf, and Dive skills
These three skills are needed to open access to the three Regis. You can get Dig from Fossil Maniac's brother on Route 114. You can get HM03 (Surf) by defeating Norman, who is the Gym Leader in Petalburg City. Dive can be obtained from Steven in Mossdeep City.
Step 2. Defeat the seventh Gym
You'll need to beat at least the first seven Gyms to access all the skills needed to get three Regis. After defeating Tate & Liza in Mossdeep City, you will gain the skill to use Dive, so you can dive deep into the ocean. This skill is required to unlock access to the three Regis.
Step 3. Capture the Relicant
There is a rare Pokémon that can only be found in the Underwater region. In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, use Dive on Routes 124 and 126 to find a Relicanth, which has a 5% chance of spawning. In Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby, you can find other underwater regions on Routes 107, 129, and 130. There are many underwater regions scattered around the world.
Step 4. Capture Wailord or have Wailmer evolve into Wailord
You can fish Wailmer in almost any water area in the game. Once you level up your Wailmer to 40, the Wailmer will evolve into a Wailord. You can also try to catch the Wailord by surfing with Surf on Route 129, but the odds are only 1%.
Part 2 of 7: Surfing Through the Current
Step 1. Go to Pacifidlog Town
Pacifidlog is the easiest place to start surfing with Surf. If you miss the right stream, you can fly back (with the Fly skill) to Pacifidlog Town and try again.
Step 2. Surf west of the Pacifidlog
In no time, you will arrive at Route 132.
Step 3. Descend to the island in the south
Walk to the other side of the island, then use Surf again in the shallow part of the water. Walk to the other side, then use Surf again to head southwest from a shallow spot of water.
Step 4. Continue surfing westward until you reach the next shallow area
Walk far to the west of the island. Make sure that you are at least three steps below the upper shore and at least three steps above the lower shore.
Step 5. Use Surf to surf to the west of the island
The current should take you straight to a dark spot of water that you can dive into with the Dive skill.
Part 3 of 7: Unlocking Access to the Three Regis
Step 1. Find a dark spot of water, then use Dive
You can find a dark dot in the lower right corner of Route 134. This dark dot is surrounded by six stones.
Step 2. Head south through the cave until you find a tablet with Braille writing on it
This tablet is at the other end of the cave.
Step 3. Use Dive in front of the tablet
You will appear on the water surface of the Sealed Chamber.
Step 4. Find the Braille tablet on the very back wall of the cave
There's a lot of Braille in the cave, but what you should look for is the Braille writing on the very back wall of the cave. The meaning of the Braille writing on the back wall is "DIG HERE".
Step 5. Use Dig in front of a Braille tablet
Walk directly in front of the Braille text, then point the character to face the writing. Use the Dig skill. In this way, a door will appear on the wall.
Step 6. Place Relicanth first in the group and Wailord last
Relicanth must be the first Pokémon on the group list and Wailord must be the last Pokémon on the group list. Use the group settings screen to sort the Pokémon sequences.
Step 7. Examine the Braille tablet at the very back of the second cave
If Relicanth is the first Pokémon and Wailord is the last Pokémon, an earthquake will occur. This indicates that the doors in the Island Cave, Desert Ruins, and Ancient Tombs in the world have been opened. The three doors are the entrance to meet the three Regis.
Part 4 of 7: Finding Regice
Step 1. Prepare your group
Regice is a level 40 Pokémon, but it is recommended that you bring a group of Pokémon level 50 and above to successfully catch it. The most common strategy used to weaken Regice without killing him is with a Pokémon that has the False Swipe skill. This skill can reduce a Pokémon's blood without killing it. Another strategy that is also commonly used is to give the opponent Sleep or Paralyze status. This will increase your chances of successfully catching a Pokémon.
Step 2. Prepare the Ultra Ball
Ultra Ball has the greatest chance of capturing Regice. Depending on Regice's remaining blood and status effects, you may need some Ultra Balls.
Step 3. Go to Route 105
The Island Cave on the west side of Route 105 should have been opened by now. Go into this cave.
Step 4. Read Braille, then wait
The Braille text asks you to wait "twice," which means you have to stand still and not move for two minutes. Don't touch the game console so you don't accidentally move the character. If you move your character, exit the cave, then go back in and try from the beginning. After two minutes, a door will open.
Step 5. Save the game
You only have one chance to face Regice, so make sure that you save the game before fighting. This way, you can reload the game if Regice is accidentally killed before you catch him or if Regice defeats your group.
Step 6. Capture Regice
Walk towards Regice and start the fight. Reduce the blood, then try to give a Sleep or Paralyze status effect. Once Regice's blood reaches the red point and has a Sleep or Paralyze status effect, start throwing Ultra Balls at him.
Step 7. Give Regice a nickname (Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby)
If you want to be able to catch Regigigas, you have to give Regice a nickname. You can do this when you catch him or you can take Regice to the Name Rater to give him a new name. The Name Rater can be found south of the Contest Hall in Slateport City.
Part 5 of 7: Finding Regirock
Step 1. Bring a Pokémon that has the Strength skill
This skill is required to gain access to Regirock.
Step 2. Prepare to face Regirock
Just like the other Regis, Regirock is a level 40 Pokémon. Bring a Pokémon with the Water element to give Regirock an effective attack. Bring a Pokémon that can give Regirock a Sleep or Paralyze status effect as well as a Pokémon with the False Swipe skill. Also, make sure that you have Ultra Ball ready.
Step 3. Go to Route 111
You'll find Desert Ruins on the east side of Route 111.
Step 4. Read the Braille on the back of the cave
The Braille text gives you instructions on what to do to gain access to Regirock.
- Walk two steps to the right, then two steps down.
- Use Strength at this point and a door will open.
Step 5. Save the game
You only have one chance to face Regirock, so make sure that you save the game before approaching him. This way, you can reload the game and try again if something goes wrong while you're dealing with it.
Step 6. Capture Regirock
Start the fight with Regirock. Use a Water-type Pokémon to reduce most of Regirock's blood, then use the False Swipe skill to reduce his blood to the lowest point without killing him. Give it a Sleep or Paralyze status effect, then start throwing Ultra Balls at him.
Part 6 of 7: Finding Registeel
Step 1. Bring a Pokémon that has the Fly skill
You need it to open the door to where Registeel is.
Step 2. Prepare to face Registeel
Like the other two Regis, Registeel is a level 40 Legendary Pokémon. Registeel is a Steel-type Pokémon, which makes it strong enough to withstand damage. Bring a Fighting, Ground, or Fire type Pokémon to deal heavy damage to Registeel. Also, bring a Pokémon with the False Swipe skill so you can reduce Registeel's blood without killing it. If you can, bring a Pokémon that can have a Sleep or Paralyze status effect that can help you catch Registeel. Also, bring an Ultra Ball!
Step 3. Go to Route 120
The Ancient Ruins Cave is located on the west side of Route 120.
Step 4. Read Braille, then walk to the center of the room
The Braille text gives you instructions for gaining access to Registeel.
- Walk to the center of the room.
- Use the Fly skill, then the door will open.
Step 5. Save the game before fighting with Registeel
You only have one chance to face Registeel, so make sure that you save the game before starting the fight. This way, you can reload the game and try to face Registeel from the start if Registeel is accidentally killed in battle.
Step 6. Capture Registeel
Start the fight and reduce Registeel's blood as soon as possible with Fighting, Ground, and Fire type skills. Use False Swipe to reduce Registeel's blood without killing him. Once his blood reaches the red dot, give him a Sleep or Paralyze status effect, then start throwing Ultra Balls.
Part 7 of 7: Getting Regigigas (Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby)
Step 1. Defeat Groudon or Kyogre
You can't face Regigigas until you've defeated a legendary Pokémon that wreaks havoc on your game's storyline.
Step 2. Make sure that you have successfully caught the three legendary golems
You'll need Regirock, Registeel, and Regice in a group to take on Regigigas.
Step 3. Give Regice a nickname
If you didn't give Regice a nickname when you caught him, head to Slateport City and talk to the Name Rater. You can give Regice any name, as Regice only needs to be given a nickname before you can face Regigigas.
Step 4. Give Regice a "cold" object to keep
Regice must keep Snowball, Ice Rock, Never-Melt Ice, or Casteliacone.
- Snowballs can be won from the Battle Maison or found from wild Snorunts.
- Icy Rock can be found at the Weather Institute.
- Never-Melt Ice can be found in the Shoal Cave.
- Casteliacone can be won from the Contest Hall or purchased at Mauville City if you have Regice in your group.
Step 5. Go to Island Cave on Route 105
Island Cave is where you find Regice. Make sure that you visit this place during the day because Regigigas does not appear at night.
Step 6. Save the game before entering the cave
The battle will start as soon as you enter the cave if all the conditions are met. Save the game before logging in as you only have one chance to face Regigigas.
Step 7. Catch Regigigas
Unlike the other Regis, Regigigas is a level 50 Pokémon, so you might have a tough fight. Regigigas is weak against Fighting-type Pokémon, so use Fighting-type Pokémon to reduce most of its blood. Once he has a little blood left, use False Swipe to reduce his blood again to the lowest point without killing him. Use the Ultra Ball when the blood is running low.
