Step
Method 1 of 5: Making a Mixed Alcohol Drink
A mixed drink is an alcoholic drink that requires only two ingredients (and maybe a few garnishes).
Step 1. Make Gin and Soda
Gin and Soda is one of the most famous drinks for its simple yet refreshing nature. To make Gin and Soda, you'll need a whiskey glass, an ice cube, a lime wedge, a bottle of cold soda, and the best quality gin you can get. Serving steps:
- Roll a lime wedge under your palm to get the juice, then cut it in the middle. Cut into 4 equal parts.
- Squeeze the lime wedges and put the slices in a glass. Pour 2 measures of Gin (45 ml) into a glass. If you don't have a measuring cup, use a bottle cap as a measure. 3 bottle caps and a little extra is appropriate.
- Add ice as much as possible, stir a few moments. Pour 105 ml of Tonic into a glass, then stir to evenly mix the Gin, soda, and lime juice.
- If necessary, add ice to 1 centimeter (0.4 in) from the rim of the glass-don't add soda. Place the lime wedge as a garnish. Provide a straw if desired.
Step 2. Make the Rum & Cola
Rum & Cola is another classic drink with flavors that vary depending on the rum used-you can use Dark Rum, Spiced Rum, Coconut Rum, or whatever you like. Traditional Rum & Cola uses Light Rum. When garnished with a lime wedge, this drink is also known as Cuba Libre. Serving steps:
- Fill the glass with ice, then pour 60 ml of your favorite Rum.
- Pour 120 ml of cola while stirring.
- Garnish with a lemon wedge for a Cuba Libre, or with Maraschino Cherry if using Spiced Rum or Coconut Rum.
Step 3. Making Vodka & Cranberries
Vodka & Cranberry is a favorite drink around the world because of its taste and bright color. Although many people make it with just these 2 ingredients, the traditional recipe also includes a little lemon juice and orange juice to add to the flavor of the cranberries. Serving steps:
- Add half a cup of ice, then pour 30 ml (or 60 ml if you want a stronger drink) Vodka.
- Add 135 ml of cranberry juice and, if using, a little lemon juice and orange juice.
- Serve with a straw or two, garnished with a lime wedge.
Step 4. Make Whiskey & Ginger Ale
While whiskey fans generally don't mix whiskey with anything but ice, this drink is gaining popularity for its savory taste. Whiskey & Ginger Ale is generally made with Jameson Irish, but Bourbon and Rye can also be used. Manufacturing steps:
- Fill the glass with ice, then pour in 45 ml of whiskey.
- Pour the Ginger Ale up to about 1 centimeter (0.4 in) from the rim of the glass.
- Add sliced and squeezed lime to the drink. Stir and serve.
Method 2 of 5: Serving Alcohol
Sometimes alcohol has to be served as is in order to truly understand its taste and characteristics. No mix required.
Step 1. Serve the Gin
Gin can be a hard drink to drink straight away, unless it's very high quality. However, Gin is a great drink served cold on a hot day. Fill the glass with ice, pour in your best Gin (Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray are two great choices), add a few drops of lime if you like.
Step 2. Serve the whiskey
How you enjoy your whiskey will depend on the alcohol content and individual tastes. Whiskey with an alcohol content above 50% is generally served with ice or added a little water to lower the level so that the taste of the whiskey can be more pronounced. Whiskey with an alcohol content of between 45% and 50% can be diluted with a little water or ice, or served straight – depending on individual preferences and tastes.
Whiskey with an alcohol content below 40% should be drunk straight (without water or ice and without refrigerating) because it has been reduced through distillation and does not need to be diluted again
Step 3. Live vodka
Vodka should be refrigerated overnight or at least a few hours before serving. Cooling the Vodka will bring out the ideal taste and consistency. You should also refrigerate the glass you will be using (60 – 90 ml is best) for about an hour. When everything is ready, pour 45 ml of Vodka into a cooled glass, do not add ice. Warm the glass in your hand for a minute or two before drinking to get the temperature right.
Step 4. Serve the Rum
High-quality rum is a delicious drink served as a closing dinner. Like whiskey, rum can be served straight, with a little water (5 – 6 drops), or iced-depending on your preference. The best glass for rum is a snifter (short-handled cup with a wide base and a palm-sized surface)-the small mouth of the glass enhances the aroma and vapors of the rum.
Step 5. Serve the Tequilla
Tequila is usually served with a shot, but good quality tequila should be served with a snifter or similar glass. It is recommended to "prepare" your mouth before drinking Tequila, because if you drink it straight away, the Tequila will taste pungent and you will not be able to enjoy the taste. Taste first so your tongue, gums and cheeks get used to it. After that, you will be able to really enjoy the subtle taste of Tequila.
Method 3 of 5: Making Cocktails
Cocktails are a more complicated alcoholic beverage to make – cocktails require more than two ingredients and have their own serving tools to make the process easier.
Step 1. Create a Cosmopolitan
The perfect drink for an evening party. This brightly colored cocktail came to prominence in the 90s as the drink of choice for Carrie Bradshaw and the rest of the cast in the telecinema Sex in the City.
Step 2. Make the Dirty Martini
Although the Dirty Martini we know today (Gin or Vodka, hard Vermouth and olive juice) has been around since the early 1990s, this drink is known the world over because of one person-its name is Bond-James Bond. This one secret agent used to order Dirty Martini (shake, don't stir) in various books and films. Become a 007 agent with this drink.
Step 3. Making the Tequila Sunrise
This drink is named after the color of the sunrise (sunrise) produced from a mixture of orange juice and grenadine (pomegranate syrup). Tequila Sunrise is very easy to make, but it sure makes a great impression at a party.
Step 4. Make Long Island Ice Tea
This drink is a high alcohol cocktail that has been around since 1970. It is said to have been invented by a bartender in Long Island, New York. Wherever it comes from, Long Island Iced Tea is one of the five most ordered cocktails today.
Step 5. Make Sex on the Beach
This drink is a sweet cocktail with a fruity taste and a challenging name.
Step 6. Creating Old Fashioned
This drink is referred to as the original American cocktail, served since the 1800s in various types. This drink is known again recently as the drink of choice for Don Draper (the main character in the Mad Men series). Old Fashioned has many variations, many of which add too much fruit and other additives, but the original version of this drink stands out for its simplicity and style.
Step 7. Make the Mojito
This drink originates from Cuba and is said to be one of Ernest Hemingway's favorite drinks. The mojito is the perfect drink for summer due to its refreshing combination of menthol and lime leaves. Perfect for a barbeque during the day or at a dance party at night.
Step 8. Make the Margaritas
Margarita is a refreshing drink based on Tequila, originating in Mexico, and has been famous all over the world. The margarita is America's number one cocktail, and no Mexican dinner party is complete without this drink.
Step 9. Create a White Russian
White Russian is a drink with a creamy and coffee-like taste, based on Vodka, and perfect for serving after dinner. If served without cream, this drink is called Black Russian with a lower alcohol content.
Step 10. Make the Singapore Sling
Since its creation in 1915, this drink has always been surrounded by mystery and debate. The Raffles Hotel in Singapore is credited with inventing this drink, but the hotel itself isn't even sure about the original recipe other than the fact that it's a mixture of Gin and one other addition-a mysterious ingredient that has been lost to time. Currently, this drink is made from more ingredients with a taste that is still delicious.
Step 11. Creating the Lemon Drop
Like the lime mix in it, the history of this drink is a little blurry. Some say the drink gained its popularity in San Francisco when Lemon Drop was marketed as a "feminine drink". “Feminine” or not, men and women agree that Lemon Drop is absolutely delicious.
Step 12. Creating Tom Collins
There are several stories about the naming of this cocktail. One thing is absolutely certain-Tom Collins has a poem about its creator. The poem goes something like this: “My name is John Collins, butler at Limmer's / on the corner of Conduit Street, Hanover Square, / My main job is filling glasses / For all the young male customers there. But wait, you might think, this drink is called Tom Collins- -not John! This is because after a few centuries, bartenders started using Old Tom to make it, so over time this drink was called Tom Collins.
Step 13. Making Daiquiri. The history of the Daiquiri begins with a place filled with cigars, dances and Cuban rum. It is said that one night, a man named Jenning Cox ran out of Gin while entertaining his guests so he replaced it with rum. Feel the sensation of the white sands of Cuban beaches with this drink.
Method 4 of 5: Making Frozen Cocktails
The frozen cocktail is a traditional cocktail mixed with ice. They have the look and texture of a Slurpee but are much tastier.
Step 1. Make the Pina Colada
You've probably heard the Jimmy Buffett song about a man who replies to a newspaper date offer that turns out to be from his own wife. One of his most famous lyrics is, “If you like pina coladas, and gettin' caught in the rain.” Now you can enjoy this drink with your partner.
Step 2. Making Daiquiri Blends. Another type of Daiquiri is a drink that is great for enjoying by the pool, especially if you like a sweeter drink.
Step 3. Make the frozen margaritas
This drink was first created by 26-year-old Dallas resident Mariano Martinez in 1971. Of course, you don't have to go to Dallas to enjoy this drink, you can try making it yourself at home!
Step 4. Create the Frozen Mudslides
If you like ice cream, alcohol, or both, try Frozen Mudslide. Frozen Mudslide is called the “trio” because it combines 3 types of alcohol in one drink-Rum Malibu, Kahlua, and Bailey's Irish Cream. However, recently, bartenders prefer Vodka over Rum.
Method 5 of 5: Making Mocktails
Mocktails are generally non-alcoholic versions of traditional cocktails. However, some mocktails have their own recipe in addition to the non-alcoholic version of the cocktail.
Step 1. Consider a few things before trying to make a mocktail
The non-alcoholic nature of the Mocktail is replaced by an attractive taste and appearance. Just because you're making a non-alcoholic drink doesn't mean you can cut back on the ingredients or the garnish. In fact, in making mocktails, it is very important to use juices and fresh fruits as the base of your drink.
- Use juices and fresh fruit. To give the best taste, use the best ingredients.
- Know the importance of decoration. The embellishments are eye-catching-no one can argue with that. Adjust the garnish with the taste or type of drink. Go crazy – go crazy – everyone will envy your Maraschino Cherry decorated with mini umbrellas and pineapple chunks.
Step 2. Make a basic dose for the Mocktail
If you're creating a new recipe, start by making the right measurements. Mocktails that are too sweet will mask the taste, so a good dose for most mocktails is 30 ml of lime or lemon juice mixed with 22.5 ml of syrup. After that, you can add other ingredients as you like.
Step 3. Try some non-alcoholic versions of traditional cocktails
If you're short on ideas and prefer a non-alcoholic version of the cocktail you know, there are plenty of recipes out there. Vodka-based cocktails can easily be made into mocktails. You won't change the mocktail's taste too much by omitting the Vodka because it's neutral in taste.
- Make a Safe Sex on the Beach mocktail. Enjoy all the flavors of the original drink without risk.
- Try the Mojito mocktail. Min, lime, soda… who doesn't like it?
- Make a strawberry margarita without tequila. Enjoy delicious drinks more safely.
Step 4. Make a pina colada without alcohol
There's no more suitable drink to accompany you to spend time by the pool than a pina colada, and without alcohol, the kids can enjoy it too.
Tips
- When blending ice with an electric blender, blend the ice first and then put the other ingredients through the hole in the blender cover. You can add ice to get the consistency you want.
- When mixing drinks, add the ice first, then the alcohol (Vodka, Tequila), then the mixture (orange, lime juice).
