Step 1. Avoid common hiding places
Sock drawers, pillowcases, and under beds are all very predictable hiding places. Think of a hiding place that immediately comes to mind when you're looking for something. Well, you should avoid hiding places like that.
Step 2. Choose a place where family members or roommates rarely go
If your older sister always comes into your room every morning to apply lotion, chances are that an old lotion bottle isn't the best hiding place. If your roommate often borrows books on your bookshelf, forget about hiding love letters between the pages.
Step 3. Find a place that has easy access
This consideration is important if you need to remove the secret item frequently. If you have to rummage through cupboards to retrieve your secret items, creating a loud noise that can attract the attention of curious parents and siblings, it's best to choose a different hiding location.

If you have a lot of hiding places, remembering all of them can be confusing. Make simple notes on your phone or computer to remember them. If you want to record the hiding places of your secret items on paper, that means you have to hide the paper as well.

If you have some electronic devices that you don't use often, such as an old radio or an old video game console, take the battery out of the compartment and put any small valuables inside. Then, replace the battery cover.
Step 2. Tuck the flat item behind the frame
Open the photo frame and remove the cardboard backing. Then, tuck flat items, such as secret notes, banknotes, on top of the photo. Replace the photo holder cardboard and you have the perfect hiding place.
Step 3. Store your confidential items in an empty product container
An empty container, such as a deodorant, sunscreen, or medicine bottle, can serve as a treasure trove. Large lotion bottles are perfect for hiding larger items.
Step 4. Store your valuables in plant pots
Put the item in a plastic bag first, then bury it in the ground. If you don't have potted plants in your home, there's nothing wrong with buying a pot or two as a secret hiding place.

Step 5. Hide your secret items between trash cans and trash bags
Take out the trash bag and put some of your secret items in the bin. Then, place the trash bag back on top. Who would have thought to look for such a valuable object in the trash?
Use this method only if you are the one taking out the trash yourself. If someone else takes out the trash, like mom or dad, they can easily find your secret hiding place

Pick out some old, seldom-worn clothes in the back of the closet and tuck some stuff in your pocket. Make sure you remember the clothes you choose so you don't make the mistake of donating or giving them to your sister.

This method is perfect for hiding letters, banknotes, and cards. It's even better if you have lots of books in the room as most spies don't bother going through every book.
- You can put a small mark on the book you are hiding so you can remember it.
- You can buy blank books in stores or online for storing flat items. To the layman, a blank book looks like a real book!
Method 3 of 3: Storing Items in Old Toys or Games
Step 1. Use the board game box to hide the valuables
If you have a board game that you never use again, empty the contents of the box and use it to hide your secret item. Then, keep the box in the back of the cupboard.

Step 2. Hide the item inside the old doll
Take the teddy bear you are willing to sacrifice for this purpose. Make a small incision along the seam and insert the item you want to hide. If the incision is large enough, you may need to sew it up to prevent the dacron from coming out.
Put the teddy bear with other stuffed animals so they don't get suspicious
Step 3. Use a tennis ball to store small objects
With a pair of scissors, make a small hole in the tennis ball. Press the ball to open holes and slip small objects. Put the tennis ball in an unsuspecting place, such as in the back of a closet, behind your bed, or in between your gym equipment.
Tips
- Hiding items in pillowcases is usually ineffective. This place is very predictable and the pillows are very uncomfortable to use.
- Be sure not to hide your valuables in something that someone else is likely to use or throw away, such as a tissue box.
- To outwit your parents and siblings, keep your secret items in a box labeled "school supplies."
