This wikiHow teaches you how to delete a Facebook friend request you sent or an unknown request you received. You can delete a friend request via the Facebook website or the Facebook mobile app.

Method 1 of 2: Using the Facebook Desktop Website
Step 1. Visit
Use the link provided or type the URL into a web browser and press Return.
If you're not automatically logged into your account, sign in first
Step 2. Click the silhouette of two people in the upper right corner of the Facebook window
Step 3. Click the Delete Request button next to the friend request you want to cancel
Step 4. Cancel the friend request you sent
To do so:
- Click the search bar at the top of the page.
- Type in the username to which you have sent a friend request.
- Click the profile.
- Click the button " Friend Request Sent ” (“Friend Request Sent”) to the right of the user's name, at the top of their profile page.
- Click " Cancel Request ” (“Cancel Request”), then click the “option again Cancel Request ” (“Cancel Request”) to confirm selection.
Method 2 of 2: Using the Facebook Mobile App
Step 1. Open the Facebook app
This application is marked by a blue icon with the letter " f" White.
If you're not logged into your account automatically, sign in to your account first
Step 2. Touch the button in the lower right corner (iPhone) or the upper right corner of the screen (Android)
On the iPad, touch the option “ Requests ” (“Request”) at the bottom of the screen. This option is indicated by a silhouette icon of two people.
Step 3. Touch Friends (“Friends”)
This option is indicated by a two human icon.
Step 4. Touch the Requests button at the top of the screen
Step 5. Touch the Delete button ("Delete") next to the friend request you want to cancel
Step 6. Touch Undo (“Cancel” for iPhone) or CANCEL ("Cancel" for Android) next to a friend's name to cancel a friend request you sent.
