This wikiHow teaches you how to spot the signs that someone has blocked you on WhatsApp on an Android device. You can't know for sure if you're blocked by someone. However, you can find some clues and determine if someone has blocked you or not.
Step
Step 1. Open WhatsApp Messenger on the device
The WhatsApp icon is a green text balloon containing a white phone image.
Step 2. Tap the CHATS tab (CHATS)
If WhatsApp is in a different tab, tap the "CHATS" tab at the top of the screen to see a list of the conversations you've had with someone or a group recently.
When WhatsApp opens the chat screen, tap the arrow-shaped "back" button at the top left of the screen to return to the "CHATS" tab
Step 3. Move the screen down and tap the desired contact
Look for the contact you suspect has blocked you on WhatsApp and tap on the contact to open the conversation screen.
Step 4. Send a message to the contact
Enter text or select a file and send it to the contact on the conversation screen.
Step 5. Check the tick that appears below the message
If the contact has blocked you, your message will not be sent to him. You will only see one gray tick below the message, not two gray ticks.
- Seeing only one tick below a message doesn't necessarily mean that someone has blocked you. Your message may not have been sent because your internet signal or the recipient is interrupted. You can check the check again later to see if your message was sent successfully or not. If you're not sure if the message hasn't been delivered because you've been blocked or your internet network has crashed, you can try sending a new message.
- If you are blocked, the contact will not receive messages even after they stop blocking you.
Step 6. View the contact's profile picture
If you are blocked, the profile picture of the contact of the person who blocked you is a blank white profile on a gray background, not the profile picture he or she previously used.
Note that WhatsApp users can choose not to use a profile picture or delete their profile picture. Indeed, if you are blocked by someone, the contact's profile picture will be a blank white profile on a gray background. However, a profile picture that is a blank white profile on a gray background doesn't necessarily imply that someone has blocked you
Step 7. Check the "Last seen" information on the contact
If it's blocked, you won't be able to see the contact's "Last seen" information below their name at the top of the conversation screen. You won't see "Last seen" information next to your profile picture or below their name.
WhatsApp users can turn off the "Last seen" information in the "Settings" menu. If you're blocked by someone, you won't be able to see the "Last seen" information on their contact. However, not being able to see "Last seen" information on a contact doesn't necessarily imply that someone has blocked you
Step 8. Ask your friend to see if he blocked you or not
The only way to tell if someone has blocked you is to ask them directly. Apart from using this method, you can't know for sure whether you are blocked or not.
