People who are still new to grilling and barbecue experts must keep the grills clean to be able to cook delicious food. Maintaining a gas grill after each use will keep the grill clean. However, if you haven't cleaned your toaster in a while, with a little extra effort you can get it back to like new again.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Cleaning the Interior of the Grill
Step 1. Turn off the gas tank connected to the grill
Do not allow harmful gases to build up during the cleaning process and cause an accident.
- Locate the valve in the gas tank for the LP grill, and the grill connection to the housing for the LNG grill.
- Turn the knob or lever to turn off the gas supply to the grill.
- Remember the formula "right tight, left loose" when closing and opening the valve.
Step 2. Remove the crate and scrub with a brush and soapy water
You can buy a grill brush at a store that sells wire brushes, acrylic scrubbers, and metal polishers. It's a good idea to buy a toaster brush to make the grill easy to clean.
- Mix one teaspoon of dish soap with one liter of water in a bucket.
- Put the wire brush in the bucket and scrub away any grease deposits that are on the grill.
- Be sure to clean both sides of the grill.
Step 3. Remove any metal plates or covers on the burner and scrub them clean
These plates protect the burners and help distribute the heat evenly as you cook.
Scrub the burner guard using a sponge or scouring pad moistened with soapy water
Step 4. Wipe all dirt off the burner
Check for blockages in the burner holes and use a toothpick to remove any objects that are blocking the flow of gas. On some grill models, the burners can be opened for easy cleaning. If your toaster is difficult to remove, wipe it clean in place.
Step 5. Scrape any dirt off the bottom surface of the grill
If your toaster has a removable bottom tray, you can take it out and scrape off any remaining food residue. If the bottom tray can't be removed, use a metal spatula or a grill scraper to push the leftover food through the dirt hole and place it in the trash bag.
Step 6. Clean the bottom of the grill with a baking sponge
After all the dirt has been removed, scrub the underside of the grill with a sponge or scouring pad and soapy water to remove any grease and grime deposits. Lots of drips and food residue that settles under the grill burner. Therefore, pay more attention to this area and clean it as much as possible to prevent corrosion.
Step 7. Check the sides and bottom of the grill cover for peeling paint or food residue
Use a grill-specific scraper to gently remove any chipped paint on the underside of the cover and wipe with a soapy sponge until clean. Try not to scratch the metal or damage the paint on the cover, which is still in good condition, so it doesn't rust or corrode.
Step 8. Replace the burner and grill cover
Reassemble all the parts of the grill in the opposite order when you disassembled it.
- The burner guard and grill frame are usually non-removable.
- Look for niches and balusters to snap these two pieces back into place.
Step 9. Turn on the gas and heat the grill
Turn the grill on high and close the lid for 15 minutes to evaporate any remaining soap and cleaning products from the interior surfaces of the grill.
Step 10. Turn off the burner and oil the roasting frame
The oil will help keep the food from sticking to the surface of the skeleton.
- Wet a tissue with canola oil.
- Use tongs to rub the oily tissue over the hot frame surface.
Part 2 of 3: Cleaning the Grill Exterior
Step 1. Turn on the gas before starting to clean the grill
Make sure the gas valve is fully closed to prevent harmful gases from filling the grill and causing an accident during the cleaning process.
Step 2. Check the drip tray under the grill and replace if necessary
Most grills have disposable drip trays or cups. Clean the surface of the drip tray handle, and replace the coating with a new aluminum plate or tin can.
- If the drip tray is not disposable, wipe the dirt with a tissue.
- After removing as much dirt as possible, rinse the drip tray with soapy water.
Step 3. Fill the bucket with soapy water
Mix 1 teaspoon of laundry soap with 1 liter of water to make a cleaning solution.
Step 4. Wipe the outer surface of the grill with an old washcloth moistened with soapy water
Clean all grill surfaces to reduce the possibility of corrosion from food residue on the metal.
- Pay close attention to the area around the valve to remove any accumulated dirt.
- Also wipe the side panels and burners with soapy water.
Step 5. Rinse the soap with water from the hose
Rinse the grill's exterior thoroughly after cleaning so that no soap stains appear when the toaster dries.
Step 6. Use glass or stainless steel cleaner to polish the stainless steel surface
If your grill has a stainless steel lid or drawer, spray some glass cleaner on the surface and wipe it with a paper towel until it looks shiny.
Part 3 of 3: Caring for the Grill
Step 1. Oil the surface of the grill frame each time you use it
Grease the grill frame with a rag or paper towel moistened with vegetable oil before each use to make it cleaner. Use tongs to rub a greasy rag over the hot frame before placing the food in the grill.
Step 2. Clean the frame with a wire brush after use
It's easier to clean the frame while it's still hot. Use a wire brush to scrape off any food debris all over the grill frame.
Step 3. Check for leaks in your gas line
Check the gas line connecting the grill to the gas tank regularly by flushing the surface of the line and connector with a small amount of soapy water. It's a good idea to do this every season you use the grill and every month when the grill is used frequently.
- Use a rag or brush and soapy water to clean the entire gas line.
- Make sure you also clean the perimeter of the joints and valves with soapy water.
- Watch for soap bubbles which indicates a gas leak which could lead to a dangerous situation.
Step 4. Burn all drips to prevent dirt deposition
Every 3-4 times you use the grill, preheat the grill without food.
- Turn on the grill on a high setting.
- Close the grill cover to burn off any drips that fall onto the burner guard.
- Let the heat build up in the grill for 10-15 minutes.
Step 5. Cover your grill after each use
Purchase a grill cover to protect your device from the elements when not in use. The grill will protect against rust and increase its useful life if you protect it from rain and dirt.
