This wikiHow teaches you how to create an Apple ID account without having to enter payment information. You can do this through the Apple ID website, iTunes, or your iPhone or iPad. Apple ID accounts are used to sign in to Apple apps, phones, tablets, and computers.

Method 1 of 3: Using the Apple ID Website
Step 1. Go to the Apple ID site
Visit https://appleid.apple.com/. After that, the login page will be displayed.
If your browser immediately shows an active Apple ID page, sign out of the account before continuing
Step 2. Click Create Your Apple ID
This link is in the top-right corner of the page. After that, the Apple ID creation form will be displayed.
Step 3. Enter your Apple ID information
Fill in the following fields:
- ” first name " and " last name ” – Enter your first and last name.
- ” birthday ” – Enter your date of birth in “month/day/year” format.
- ” [email protected] ” – Type in the email address you want to use as your Apple ID. You can't use an email address that's already been used as another Apple ID.
- ” password " and " confirm password ” – Enter the password you want to use for your Apple ID.
Step 4. Select a security question and its answer
Click the drop-down box " Security Question ”, select a question from the drop-down menu, and type the appropriate answer into the "answer" text field.
You will need to follow these steps for the other two security questions
Step 5. Swipe the screen and enter the security code
Type the character that appears in the gray box in the text field to the right of the box.
You can click the button " New Code ” to display a different security code if the first code is unreadable.
Step 6. Click Continue
It's at the bottom of the page.
Step 7. Get an email containing the verification code
Open the email address registered as your Apple ID, open the "Verify your Apple ID email address" email from Apple, and note the six-digit code in the middle of the message body.
Step 8. Enter the verification code
Type the six-digit code into the verification window on the Apple ID website.
Make sure you don't include any spaces
Step 9. Click Continue
It's in the lower-right corner of the verification window. As long as the code entered matches the code sent to the email address, an Apple ID account will be created.
Method 2 of 3: Via iPhone
Step 1. Sign out of the currently active Apple ID
If you haven't signed into any Apple ID yet, skip this step. To exit ID:

Open settings menu

- Touch the business card at the top of the settings page.
- Swipe the screen and touch " Sign Out ”.
- Enter your Apple ID password to confirm.
Step 2. Open the app
App Store.
This app is marked by a blue icon with a white “A” on it. You can create a new Apple ID from this app.
Step 3. Touch Apps
This tab is at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4. Touch GET next to free apps
After that, a pop-up window will be displayed.
Step 5. Touch Create New Apple ID
This option is in the pop-up window. After that, the Apple ID creation form will be displayed.
Step 6. Enter your Apple ID information
Fill in the following fields:
- ” E-mail ” – Type in the email address you want to use as your Apple ID.
- ” Password ” – Type in the password for the Apple ID account.
- ” Verify ” – Re-enter the password.

Touch the toggle next to the “ Agree to Terms and Conditions ” to the active position or “ON”

Step 7. Enter personal information
Fill in the following fields:
- ” Title ” – Choose your title/designation (eg " Mr. " or " Ms. ").
- ” First Name ” – Enter your first name.
- ” Last Name " - Input your last name.
- ” Birthday ” – Enter your date of birth in “month/day/year” format.
Step 8. Select a security question and its answer
Touch the box " Question ”, select the question you want to use, then touch the " Answer " field and type in an answer.
You need to follow this step for all three security questions
Step 9. Touch Next
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 10. Touch None
This option is in the " PAYMENT METHOD " option group. With this option, no payment method is required.
Step 11. Enter billing information
This information includes first and last name, residential address, country, and telephone number.
Step 12. Touch Next
Step 13. Get an email containing the verification code
Open the email address you selected as your Apple ID, open the "Verify your Apple ID email address" email from Apple, and note the five-digit code in the middle of the message body.
Step 14. Enter the code
Tap the " Code " field, then type in the five-digit code from the email.
Step 15. Touch Verify
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 16. Touch Continue when prompted
As long as the code entered matches the code you got from the email, you can sign in to your new Apple ID on your iPhone or iPad.
Method 3 of 3: Using iTunes
Step 1. Open iTunes on the computer
The program is marked by a colorful musical note icon on a white background.
If prompted to update the program, click the “ Download iTunes ”, wait for the installation to complete, and restart the computer if prompted before continuing.
Step 2. Sign out of the currently active Apple ID
Skip this step if you're not signed into your Apple ID at all in the iTunes program. To sign out of your Apple ID:
- Click " Account ” at the top of the screen (Mac) or program page (Windows).
- Click " Sign Out… ” in the drop-down menu.
Step 3. Click the Store tab
It's a tab at the top of the iTunes window.
Step 4. Click the Music box
This drop-down box with musical notes is in the upper-left corner of the iTunes window. After that, a drop-down menu will be displayed.
Step 5. Click TV Shows
This option is in the drop-down menu “ Music Once clicked, the store view will be changed to the content view of movies and TV series.
Step 6. Click the Free TV Episodes link
This gray link is on the right side of the iTunes page. After that, a list of TV shows that have free episodes will be displayed.
Step 7. Select a TV show
Click shows with free episodes. You can select any show on this page because all shows have at least one free episode.
Step 8. Click Get
It's to the far right of the free episode name. After that, a pop-up window will be displayed.
Step 9. Click Create New Apple ID
It's in the lower-left corner of the pop-up window.
Step 10. Enter your Apple ID information
Fill in the following fields:
- “ E-mail ” - Type in the email address you want to use as your Apple ID. You can't use an email address that's already been used as another Apple ID.
- ” Password ” – Enter the password you want to use for the account.
- ” Verify ” – Re-enter the previously typed password.
Step 11. Check the box " By clicking Continue"
This box is at the bottom of the page.
Step 12. Click Continue

Step 13. Enter personal information
This information includes:
- ” Title (designation or title)
- ” first name " (first name)
- ” last name " (last name)
- ” Birthday " (date of birth)
Step 14. Add security questions and answers
Click the drop-down box Security Question ”, click the question in the drop-down menu, and type an answer in the text field below.
You will need to fill in all three questions before continuing
Step 15. Click Continue
This option is at the bottom of the page.
Step 16. Click None
It's at the far right of the list of payment options, at the top of the page. If you don't see the option None ”, you might not be able to create an Apple ID without a payment method for one of the following reasons:
- ” You're not in the correct country ” – If the country you selected is different from the iTunes program registration country, you will not see the option “ None ”.
- ” You didn't sign out of iTunes ” – If you forgot to sign out of your previous Apple ID account, you cannot select “ None ”.
- ” You have an unpaid balance on iTunes ” – You will need to enter a payment method to continue the process if you previously had paid content pending in the iTunes program.
Step 17. Enter billing information
This information includes:
- ” Name " (name)
- ” Address " (address)
- ” Phone number " (phone number)
Step 18. Click Continue

Step 19. Get the verification code on the email address
Open the email address specified as your Apple ID, open the "Verify your Apple ID email address" email from Apple, and note the five-digit code that appears in the center of the message body.
Step 20. Enter the email verification code
Type the five-digit code into the field in the middle of the iTunes window.
Step 21. Click Verify
It's at the bottom of the page. After that, a pop-up window will be displayed.
Step 22. Enter your Apple ID password if prompted
As long as the code entered is correct, you will be asked to enter your Apple ID password. After that, you will be signed in to your Apple ID account.
