The kettle in Minecraft doesn't have much use, but it can help make a production area more productive. The kettle can be used to rinse off the dye on protective clothing, or to extinguish a fire. If you spend a lot of time in the nether, a kettle is very useful for making potent potions when away from home.
The kettle is not available in Minecraft Pocket Edition.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Getting Iron Bars
Step 1. Make or find 7 iron bars
7 pieces of iron bars are needed to make a kettle. Bars can be found in Fortresses and Dungeons, and Iron Golems drop them, but it might be easier to make your own ingots from iron ore.
Step 2. Mine iron ore
To break a block of iron ore, you need a Stone Pickaxe or something stronger. Iron ore can usually be found between layers 1-63, and will be in layers 4-10.
Step 3. Make a furnace if you don't have one
If you want to make your own iron bars, you will need a furnace to smelt iron ore. Place 8 large boulders around the edge of the production window to make a furnace.
Step 4. Open the furnace window and place the fuel in the bottom box
Any type of fuel can be used to make iron ingots.
A bucket of lava, coal, and charcoal are the most efficient fuels, but you can also use logs, any object made of wood (crafting table, chairs, etc.), and saplings
Step 5. Place a block of iron ore in the box above the fuel
After a while, an iron bar will appear in the box on the right. Repeat until you get 7 iron bars.
More fuel efficient makes the production of iron bars much faster
Part 2 of 3: Making a Kettle
Step 1. Open the production window using the Crafting Table
After getting the ingots, you can make a Pitcher from the Production Table.
Step 2. Place three iron bars along the left side, three on the right side, and one on the bottom
The bar must form the letter "U" in the production window.
Step 3. Drag the Kettle from the production window into the inventory
Now the kettle can be placed anywhere.
Part 3 of 3: Using the Kettle
Step 1. Use the kettle to make a potion on the crater
The cauldron doesn't have many functions, but it is very important when spending time in the crater. This is because the Perk is the only way to get water for potions.
- Take the plover to the crater outpost.
- Return to the surface and fill the bucket with as much water as possible.
- Place all the buckets of water in the crates near the cauldron at the crater outpost.
- Fill the kettle with water using a bucket. You can fill three Glass Bottles with water before having to refill the Kettle with another bucket of water.
Step 2. Use the kettle as a rainwater catcher
If you live in an arid area, there may not be many sources of water nearby. The kettle will be very useful and collect rainwater for you. Put some cauldrons outside, and they will fill with water when it rains.
Step 3. Use a kettle to water someone who is on fire (including yourself)
If you get burned often enough, jump into the cauldron to put out the fire. But first make sure that the kettle is filled with water!
Step 4. Decorate the house with a kettle
If you want your Minecraft house to look more authentic, place the kettle in the production area and keep it fully stocked. This will make the kettle look more useful and usable.
Step 5. Wash off the dye on the leather armor
If you no longer like the color of the armor, you can wash it by holding it and then using the kettle. It can also be done to remove the top layer of the flag.
