Doodling is a great way to pass the time when you're bored. But apart from filling your time, doodling can also hone your artistic skills and grow your interest in art, especially drawing. As long as you relax and let your hands work, you should be able to create original, funny, or even good doodles. If you want to know a great way to doodle, follow the steps below.

Method 1 of 2: Learning the Basics of Scribbling
Step 1. Prepare the right tools
If you want to be good at doodle drawing, then you should always be ready to do it anytime and anywhere. Inspiration -- or boredom -- can come at any time, not just in class or the office. So you should always be ready to doodle. Therefore, you should always carry a notebook along with some other tools. For starters, you can start with a simple tool like a pen. But as your doodles improve, start using other drawing tools. Here are some tools you can use for doodling:

Step 1. Draw flowers
Flowers are objects that are often drawn because they can be very varied and easy to draw. Here are some forms of flower images that you can make:
- A vase filled with a bunch of flowers.
- A garden filled with various kinds of flowers.
- The field is full of sun-kissed sunflowers.
- A rose bush surrounded by rose petals.
- Write your name on a flower picture.
Step 2. Draw the face
Drawing faces is a little difficult compared to flowers. But you will feel satisfied when you can finally draw the face correctly. You can draw the face of your teacher or classmate, or draw any face. Here are some face images that you can make:
- Draw some of the same faces but with different expressions.
- Draw a face that sticks out in your memory, be it your crush or a celebrity. Later, you can compare the image with the real face.
- Draw part of the face. Practice your skills by drawing only one part of the face such as the eyes, lips, or nose.
- Caricature image. Draw faces with exaggerated and funny expressions.
Step 3. Write your name
Names are things that are often used as scribbles. There are many ways to write your name. You can write it many times, or write your name in different writing styles, or even make a caricature. Here are a few other ideas:
- Write your name in serial or beautiful writing.
- Write your name in the smallest possible font size, but still legible.
- Write your name with various abbreviated versions. For example your name is Jean Marie Carmen, you can write J. M. Carmen or Jean Marie C and so on.
- Write your first name then the last name of the person you like.
- Write your name in large font. Then decorate the letter with other small pictures such as flowers and stars.
- Write your name in balloon or bubble letters.
Step 4. Draw the animal
Animals are also fun shapes to draw, as there is a wide selection of animals to draw, ranging from the funny to the spooky or even imaginary. You can draw a pet dog, a homemade imaginary animal, or turn a cute cat into a spooky one. Here are some ideas you can use:
- Seabed animal images. Draw a sea and then draw any kind of aquatic animal you can think of, from jellyfish to sharks and so on.
- Pictures of forest animals. Create your own forest with eagles, monkeys, snakes and other animals in it.
- Turn ordinary animals into monsters. Draw an ordinary animal like a dog or cat, then add extras like big fangs, evil eyes, horns, and so on.
- Pictures of your favorite animal. Do you really love your pet dog? Try drawing it in a variety of cute poses.
- Draw your dream animal. Draw a pet that you really want, even if it's just a fantasy. You can give it a name if you want.
- Combined animal images. Draw a dog with a sheep's head, a cat with a fowl's tail, or a fish with a crocodile's mouth.
Step 5. Draw what you see
Draw whatever you see in front of you, be it a teacher, a classmate, a whiteboard, or a scene outside the classroom. You can also make something original based on the object in front of you. Here are some ideas:
- Fill your pencil case
- Your teacher's expression
- Clouds and/or sun outside
- The trees outside
- Whatever's on your classroom wall

Step 6. Draw what you hear
One fun way is to freely draw what you hear around you. Here are some ideas:
- Pictures of historical figures. If your teacher is discussing a historical hero, draw the hero.
- Pictures of people you've never met. If you hear two people talking about someone with a weird name, take a picture and guess what it looks like.
- Draw a concept. When you hear about an “embargo” or “graph” from your teacher, try drawing pictures of things related to them. You don't have to draw a graph, just draw something that comes to mind related to the graph.
- Image of a song. Do you catch a glimpse of a song that you're hard to forget? Try drawing something that pops into your head about the song.
Step 7. Draw a cityscape
Cityscapes are fun drawing objects and would look great if they were drawn in the corner of your book. Draw a cityscape and add some unique details. Here are some ideas:
- Create a night backdrop. Cityscapes look better in the night sky, so draw the moon and stars and then shade the background.
- Pictures of small windows in houses, some with lights on, some not.
- Add some other details like trees, street lights, telephone boxes, trash cans, or even pedestrians.
- Picture the city of your dreams. Do you know exactly what your dream city looks like, real or imaginary. If the city does exist, try to compare whether your picture matches the reality.
Step 8. Create your own imaginary world
As you experience doodles, you can create your own world on paper, with people you create, animals you create, and buildings. With experience, the objects and living things you draw will have a distinctive shape and people will recognize them as your drawing.
- If you're experienced, you can draw for someone else, or teach someone else how to draw.
- You can give your imaginary world a name you want.
- You can create a collage or collection of your pictures in your room by taking each page of your pictures and sticking them on the wall.

Tips
- No need to erase, just keep drawing. Use these mistakes as a start to make something creative.
- Scribble images can be simple, such as patterns or patterns.
- Don't be afraid to look childish. Childish doodles are the most expressive, witty and funny drawings.
- Over time, you will recognize your style of drawing. You can stick with the style or try a new style.
- Don't worry about people's opinions. Focus on what you are drawing and follow your instincts.

- If you draw in class, be careful not to get caught by the teacher.
- Don't think too much, because it will make you hesitate when drawing. Draw without hesitation or overthinking. If you are confused about what to draw, draw what comes to your mind.
- Don't be too humble. If someone compliments your image, say thank you and smile.
- Don't be overconfident with your image. There is no need to show your picture to other people because it will only see you seeking attention.
- Don't draw where you can be the center of attention. You don't want people to look at you strangely.
