There are seven chakras or energy centers in the human body. Each chakra is in charge of channeling energy to certain areas of the physical body and reflecting certain traits of a person's personality. This article explains how to control and balance the chakras to achieve optimal emotional, mental and spiritual health.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Meditation
Step 1. Find a quiet, comfortable, and distraction-free place to sit in meditation
Sit cross-legged with your body straight, but relaxed. Breathe deeply while focusing attention on the breath and freeing the mind from distracting things.
Step 2. Visualize the first chakra or the base chakra which is under the tailbone
This chakra is associated with health, well-being, and a sense of security. Stay focused on the breath while directing your attention to the energy in the base chakra so that you feel connected to the earth. Visualize a ball that emits red light rotating clockwise.
Step 3. Focus on the second chakra or sex chakra which is located in the lower abdomen
Think of the sex chakra as the source of love, passion, and sexuality within you. Relax your glutes, abdomen, and pelvis while continuing to breathe deeply. Visualize the ball emitting an orange glow rotating clockwise.
Step 4. Direct your attention to the solar plexus chakra which is in the upper abdomen slightly above the navel
This chakra is associated with the ability to concentrate, persistence, and power. Focus on the life energy within your body while continuing to breathe deeply. Visualize the ball emitting a yellow light rotating clockwise.
Step 5. Focus on the heart chakra which is in the center of the chest
Focus on feeling love, forgiveness, compassion, and harmony while imagining the heart chakra and continue to meditate so that the mind is able to explore the connection between the body and the soul. Visualize a ball that emits green light rotating clockwise.
Step 6. Open your mouth and breathe deeply using the neck chakra
Focus your mind on the power of communication as the ability to develop and share wisdom and knowledge. Visualize a ball that emits blue light rotating clockwise.
Step 7. Focus your attention on the third eye chakra which is in the center of the forehead slightly above the eyebrows
This chakra is the source of wisdom, learning, imagination, intuition, and perception. While remaining aware of the breath, think about the impact the things you see have on your perception of others and yourself. Visualize the ball emitting an indigo colored light rotating clockwise.
Step 8. Inhale deeply and then exhale while focusing on the crown chakra, which is at the top of your head
The crown chakra makes us connect with the spiritual realm as a source of energy that allows us to be inspired and experience the alignment between the physical, soul, and spirit. Keep your focus on the breath while visualizing the ball that emits a purple light rotating clockwise.
Step 9. Imagine white light flowing down from the crown chakra to the base chakra which is blending with the earth
Visualize yourself as a being emitting a shimmering white light with all the chakras shining brightly and continuously rotating.
Method 2 of 3: Meditate Using Crystals
Step 1. Lie down in a quiet place in silence or listening to relaxing sounds (such as the sound of running water or the sound of waves on the beach)
Turn off the phone and stay away from distractions.
Step 2. Focus your mind on the breath while imagining the white light flowing into your body as you inhale and release any stress or negative thoughts as you exhale
Step 3. Place a stone in each chakra
There are stone colors that are the same as the color of the chakras, some are different. Place amethyst on the seventh chakra (crown chakra), blue calcite on the sixth chakra (third eye chakra), blue calcite on the fifth chakra (neck chakra), pink quartz on the fourth chakra (heart chakra), orange quartz on the third chakra (solar chakra plexus), agate in the second chakra (sex chakra), and black tourmaline in the first chakra (base chakra).
Step 4. Visualize each stone in the shape of a ball emitting light according to the color of the stone
Then, visualize the energy of the same color as the stone flowing through the stone into the chakra until you are able to imagine the chakra expanding into a large ball that emits light according to the color of the stone.
Step 5. Flow energy from the bottom up or vice versa according to the goals you want to achieve while meditating
Start meditating by focusing on chakras/stones numbered 1 to 7 in order. For health and well-being, imagine light flowing from the seventh chakra to the first chakra. When reaching a certain chakra, focus on the color of the stone which will vibrate itself according to the vibration of the chakra to restore structure, harmony and energy balance throughout the body.
