You can make a wrap skirt that fits your size by following the simple instructions below. In addition to calculating the size first, you can draw the pattern directly on a sheet of newspaper and use it over and over again.
Step
Step 1. First of all, measure your body
Measure your waist or hips, whichever you want to wrap around the top (this is called the "X" size). Then, measure the length of the skirt to your liking (this size is called the "Y" size).
-
X = waist/hip circumference; Y = length
Step 2. Calculate sides A, B, and C
For example:
-
The waist size of "X" is 91 cm and the length of "Y" is 76 cm.
- The top of the trapezoid or "A" should be 30% of 1.5 times the "X" waist circumference plus 7 cm of seam spacing. (Use the formula A = [1, 5(X + 7)] * 0, 3) A = 91 + 7 = 98 * 1, 5 = 147, 147 * 0, 3 = 44
- The length of the trapezoid "B" should be as long as your desired skirt size plus 4 cm for the hem. (Use the formula B = Y + 4) B = 76 + 4 = 80
- The bottom of the trapezoid "C" should be 40% of the length 1.5 times the size of the "X" after adding 7 cm for the hem. (Use the formula C = [1, 5(X + 7)] * 0, 4) C = 91 + 7 = 98, 98 * 1,5 = 147, 147 * 0, 4 = 59
Step 3. By applying sizes A, B, and C draw a trapezoid on a sheet of newspaper
Step 4. Use the pattern to cut your favorite fabric three times so you have three pieces of trapezoidal fabric
Step 5. Sew the three trapezoids on the sections indicated by blue in the diagram below
-
Make sure to join the front sides properly. Connect the three trapezoids on the back side of the fabric so that the stitches are hidden on the inside.
Step 6. Sew the waist, bottom hem, and sides as desired
Attach the button and make a hole in the red dot in the diagram above. The point on the left will be the eyelet, and the point in the center of the panel will be the button, then sew the button on the inside of the fabric.
Step 7. Add strings like the two green lines on the diagram
Step 8. Twist, button, tie, done
