Liking being naked can be difficult at times, especially if you don't like your own body and have low self-confidence. You can change how you feel about being naked by improving your body image and taking good care of yourself. Things like spending more time naked, changing negative thoughts, and spending time with supportive people can bring you closer to your goal of liking being naked.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Changing Appearance
Step 1. Find out why you want to be naked
To be motivated to change how you feel when you're naked, explore some of the reasons that make you feel good about being naked. Write down the reasons so you can review them and determine whether they relate to yourself or someone else. If the reasons are self-related, then you have a healthy motivation to improve your self-image. If the reason is related to someone else, then you may not have a sound reason to change your self-image and may need to consult a therapist for help.
- For example, self-related reasons could be, "I want to feel good when I'm naked so I don't worry about being with my partner," or, "I want to feel good when I'm naked so I can go to the beach naked during school holidays."
- Reasons related to other people could be, "I want to feel good when I'm naked so my partner likes me more," or, "I want to feel good when I'm naked so people don't hate me when I go to the beach naked."
Step 2. Spend more time naked
One of the best ways to start feeling more comfortable naked is to spend more time wearing nothing. You can expose yourself naked and the more you do it, the more comfortable you will feel. Make sure you stay relaxed while spending time naked. Try taking deep breaths or even doing naked yoga to stay relaxed when you're naked.
Try walking around the house (or room) naked for a few moments each day. If you have your own pool (where no one can see you), swim in nothing
Step 3. Compliment your naked body
Checking out your favorite features might help you feel better when you're naked. Look in the mirror naked and try to pinpoint your favorite body part. While being aware of the body part you like, say it to yourself out loud. Repeat this process daily and you will start to become more aware of your good features and feel better when you are naked.
For example, you could say to yourself, "I really like the shape of my calves," or, "My ass looks great too."
Step 4. Remind yourself that your body is unique
There are various body types in this world, so you have to remember that you have a unique and beautiful body. Try to focus on how different other people's bodies are so you can see that there are different body types.
Pay close attention to the appearance of other people's bodies as you stroll through the mall or, better yet, the swimming pool. Be aware of the enormous variety of shapes, sizes, skin colors, and other features of other people's bodies. However, don't stare at people because that could get you into trouble
Step 5. Show love to yourself
Being loving to yourself can improve your self-image and help you feel better about yourself when you're naked. Self-compassion means being kind to yourself, even if you don't think you deserve to be treated well. Kindness can come in the form of good thoughts, attitudes, or words. If you find yourself speaking badly of yourself, ask yourself the following questions to determine if you have bad thoughts:
- Does this thought make me feel good?
- Would I say this thought out loud to a friend or loved one?
- Does this push me to be better?
Step 6. Turn negative thoughts into positive ones
If you have trouble feeling happy naked, you may be a victim of negative thoughts. Changing the way you talk to yourself can also help you feel better naked. The next time you have negative thoughts about your own naked body, stop yourself and turn the negative thoughts into positive ones.
For example, imagine you have negative thoughts such as, “I look like a pig.” You can change that thinking to something like, "I may not be skinny, but I have a lot of great features and I love how unique my body is."
Step 7. Repeat the spell
Repeating a mantra can help calm you down when you're feeling anxious. It can also help silence criticism from within. The spell can be anything, but the benefits are maximized if the spell sends a positive message to yourself.
Try something like, "I love myself and I have every right to like being naked."
Method 2 of 2: Taking Care of Yourself
Step 1. Exercise
By exercising regularly, you can improve your health and feel better when you're naked because several studies have shown that exercising regularly can lead to a better body image. Find a type of exercise that you enjoy and do it often. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical exercise each day.
Try walking, swimming, dancing, cycling, running, or playing ball
Step 2. Eat healthy foods
Foods that are bad for you can be bad for your body and mind. Several studies have shown that simple carbohydrates (like flour sugar, etc.) and high fat have a bad impact on mood. These bad effects can make it even more difficult for you to enjoy being naked.
Choose foods that nourish your body such as fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains
Step 3. Get enough rest
Lack of sleep can have an impact on body performance and feelings. If you're constantly tired and sad, you'll have a harder time feeling happy naked. Make sure to get seven to nine hours of sleep per day so you can perform at your best when trying to feel better naked.
Try sleeping naked. Sleeping naked has many benefits, including better sleep, decreased stress hormones, and increased intimacy with your partner
Step 4. Wear nice clothes so that you feel better when you take them off
Clothing can affect how you feel naked, so choose clothes that make you look and feel great. Choose clothes that fit your body and are comfortable to wear. If you haven't bought a new dress in a while, treat yourself to a new one. Buying new clothes to wear will remind you that you deserve good things, which may improve how you feel about yourself when you take off your clothes.
If your fear of being naked is related to your intimate relationship with your partner, try buying sexy underwear. Wearing silk lingerie or panties may increase your confidence when you take off your clothes
Step 5. Take time to relax
When you feel stressed, self-esteem is affected because you feel anxious, and blame and doubt yourself. Relaxation is important for your well-being and it can also help you feel better when you're naked. Make sure you set aside 15 minutes per day to sit back and relax. You can meditate, do deep breathing exercises, or just fall asleep.
Try a foam bath to relax. It combines relaxing activities with being naked so that you feel more positive about being naked
Step 6. Pamper yourself
Another way to build positive feelings about being naked is to do things that pamper your naked body. People with poor body image or low self-esteem tend to avoid self-indulgent activities, but self-indulgence can improve feelings about yourself and your body.
If you've been avoiding pampering yourself, head to the spa for a massage and face mask, or do some other fun body treatment that requires you to be naked
Step 7. Spend time with people who love you
Consider who you spend time with and how you feel when you spend time with them. If you feel that there are a lot of negative and judgmental people in your life, it may be contributing to your dislike of being naked. The person with whom you are intimate must also accept your naked body.
If your partner doesn't value your body, that may be the reason you don't enjoy being naked. Consider breaking up if the person doesn't respect you for who you are and for who you are
Step 8. Consider consulting a therapist
While you can personally do several things to feel good about being naked, you may need to see a therapist if your body image problems are severe or are causing relationship problems. If you are having trouble with your daily life or have other problems such as an eating disorder, you should seek help from a mental health professional as soon as possible.
Tips
Be patient while trying to feel better naked. It may take a while before you feel comfortable in your naked body, but don't give up
Warning
- You should be aware that being naked may not be acceptable in some places (offices, schools, etc.)
- Check the laws in your state/country/province. Nakedness may not be allowed in certain places and you could be punished.
