This wikiHow teaches you how to delete original and retweeted tweets from your Twitter profile. Deletion can be done via desktop and mobile platforms. However, keep in mind that you can't delete other people's tweets. You also can't delete other people's replies to your tweets.

Method 1 of 2: Deleting a Tweet on a Mobile Device
Step 1. Open Twitter
Tap the Twitter icon, which looks like a white bird on a blue background. The Twitter feed page will open if you are logged in to your account.
If not, enter your email address (or username) and account password before continuing
Step 2. Touch the profile photo
It's a circular photo icon in the upper-left corner of the screen. A pop-out menu will be displayed.
Step 3. Touch Profile
It's at the top of the pop-out menu.
Step 4. Select the tweet
Swipe to find the tweet you want to delete, then touch the tweet to open it.
If the tweet you want to delete is a reshared tweet (retweet), and not a tweet you uploaded yourself, move on to the step of removing the reshared tweet from your profile at the end of this segment
Step 5. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. After that, a pop-up menu will appear at the bottom of the screen.
- On Android devices, you will see a pop-up window in the center of the screen.
- If you want to delete a reply uploaded to that tweet, first find the reply tweet you sent.
Step 6. Touch Delete Tweet
This option with red text is in the pop-up menu.

Step 7. Touch Delete when prompted
The tweet will be removed from the profile.
On the Android device, touch “ YES ” when prompted.
Step 8. Delete the tweet you reshared from your profile
If you share someone else's content/tweet, you can remove it from your profile by tapping the green “Retweet” icon below the tweet, then selecting “ Undo Retweet ” when prompted.
- You may need to scroll down first to see the " Retweet " option.
- You can't use the menu normally used to delete private tweets if you want to delete someone else's tweet that you shared.
Method 2 of 2: Deleting Tweets on Desktop Platforms
Step 1. Open Twitter
Visit https://www.twitter.com/ through your computer's web browser. The Twitter feed page will be displayed if you are already logged in to your account.
If not, enter your email address (or username) and account password before continuing
Step 2. Click the profile icon
It's a circle icon in the top-right corner of the page. A drop-down menu will be displayed.
Step 3. Click Profile
This option is in the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Select the tweet
Swipe until you see the tweet you want to delete, then click on it to open it in a pop-up window.
If the tweet you want to delete is someone else's tweet you shared, and not a personal tweet, skip to the step of removing the reshared tweet from your profile at the end of this segment
Step 5. Click
It's in the upper-right corner of the tweet pop-up window. After that, a drop-down menu will be displayed.
If you want to delete a reply that you sent to that tweet, swipe to view the reply's tweet
Step 6. Click Delete Tweet
It's in the drop-down menu.
Step 7. Click Delete when prompted
After that, the tweet will be removed from the profile.
Step 8. Delete the other person's tweet that you shared from your profile
If you reshare someone else's content/tweet (retweet), you can remove it from your profile by clicking on the green “Retweet” icon below the tweet.
You may need to swipe up to see the “Retweet” icon
Tips
While you can't delete other people's tweets, you can report them if you need to. Click or tap the icon in the top right corner of the tweet, then select “ Report Tweet ” and fill in the form provided.
Warning
- While you can block other users, you can't delete replies that other people have tweeted about you.
- Unfortunately, you can't mass delete tweets.
- Deleted tweets may take up to 2 weeks to disappear from the Google search results preview. However, you may encounter an error when trying to access tweets that have been deleted from Google.
